Maddie and Ben have been in a relationship for nine years. They call their commitment to each other a "valid life choice." But Maddie is thrown for a loop when her younger sister, Mia, announces she is marrying her boyfriend of seven weeks and they are having a baby together. The surprise -- for Maddie, anyway -- is that her parents, wed 35 years, are happy about Mia's choices. Which leaves Maddie and Ben questioning everything about their own relationship.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Better With You isn't a groundbreaking comedy and it doesn't take many risks, but it features a cast of comedy veterans that jell to make the show more amusing than not.

"Better With You" has the foundation to be an engaging comedy. Right now, it's difficult to commit to a long-term relationship. Go to Full Review

But there is hope that "Better" might turn into a solid series: the writing is smart and patient, and dialogue wed to Casey's good-guy dopiness lands well. Go to Full Review

I like a bunch of the actors and it didn't grate the way either of the new Thursday sitcoms did, but nor did it make me laugh, or even smile. Go to Full Review

True, the multi-camera, laugh track series feels a bit outdated, and the punchlines are a cheesefest, but if you can get past all that (and you might not be able to), you might find Better With You to be fun, mindless comedy fare. Go to Full Review

Since most of us have already watched plenty of TV, we're probably better off without Better With You. Go to Full Review
