One of the program's virtues is the space that it gives the [female characters' world]. [Full review in Spanish]

Extremely clever, original and defiantly edgy ... masturbation, menstruation and everything else is covered in graphic and lurid detail, with mostly very funny results.

Disgusting? Sometimes. But it's all in service of a noble goal: providing one of TV's most honest depictions of growing up.

Big Mouth takes full advantage of the content freedom Netflix allows, exploring the early days of puberty and how it challenges boys and girls physically, mentally and emotionally.

If body humor grosses you out, this certainly isn't the series for you. But if you're a fan of Kroll's work, love an excellent voice acting cast, and want to revisit the hell that is growing up, Big Mouth is for you.

Naturally, an honest take, in a frank idiom, on the crude rituals and abject humiliations of pubescence will toy with forbidden thoughts. Big Mouth does so as a matter of course, for reasons organic to its characters.
October 26, 2017
Big Mouth is able to explore its relatively mundane material in entertainingly creative ways.
October 25, 2017
While Big Mouth might not have the zip of Bob's Burgers, the sharpness of South Park, or the heart of BoJack Horseman, it is a ton of fun to watch and laugh along with, and a worthy contemporary of those animated greats.
October 23, 2017
It might be simple gross-out comedy, but it also feels like we should be talking about this stuff more openly and more often.
October 5, 2017
Young, dumb, and full of wildly coarse and thoughtful humor, Big Mouth sizes up with the year's bigger releases.

[Big Mouth] is not a show for 12-year-olds, but it is fun for anyone who felt like a mess as their hormones went bonkers for several years.
October 2, 2017
Acknowledging the mess makes life easier, and "Big Mouth" acknowledges every disgusting, beautiful part.

Big Mouth may not add a lot of fresh wisdom to the portrayal of adolescent sexual awareness, but it also doesn't wallow in mere dirty jokes. It gives its characters, male and female, some rueful wit in their vigorous pursuit of carnal pleasure.

The voice work is strong and inspired, the friendships are believable and, for the most part, the lewdness is clever.

It's charming and repulsive all at once.
September 29, 2017
Even better than the laughter that Big Mouth elicits might be the relief that most viewers have passed that age when each new day brings with it a different way for the soul to shrivel. We'll never be young again -- thank mother-bleeping goodness.
September 28, 2017
I also can't say enough about how explicitly and sensitively Big Mouth depicts adolescent sexual exploration.
September 27, 2017
As over the top as some of the bits are, Big Mouth is likely to strike a chord of remembrance in adult viewers. If so, the memories probably won't be quite as filthy or funny as they are here.

Big Mouth comes in strong and delivers an impressive debut season. May this thing spread as quickly as a seventh grade rumor and there be many more years to come.
September 19, 2017
If Big Mouth manages to maintain this level of absurd-yet-relatable comedy, then we can rest easy knowing that series may become one of Netflix's flagship properties.
