Tv Season Info

The Johnsons' commitment to teach their children about their heritage and how to embrace their success as a wealthy family continues in Season 3. Dre (Anthony Anderson) gets more and more involved with politics, deciding to be an active part of the community to show his family that things can change if enough people want it. Meanwhile, Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) has to balance her job, her pregnancy and her children's needs, which, as they get older, are as complicated as ever. As for the kids, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) has a crisis of faith and it's up to her family to show her that God is real and accept that she might just be on a different path; and Junior (Marcus Scribner) starts dating a white girl, prompting his family to face their feelings about biracial couples. Laurence Fishburne also stars as Dre's dad and Tyra Banks makes a return appearance as Dre's childhood friend.

Critic Reviews for black-ish Season 3

All Critics (7) | Top Critics (3)

Black-ish tells stories the way they should be told-in fragments of truth, scattered across multiple characters rather than feeding one big, overarching narrative meant to represent every Black American.

Black-ish is about real life, and it earns its tearjerking moments as much as its laughs.

[The finale] captures Black-ish's signature blend of hilarity and emotional sensitivity while tackling one of the show's toughest, most personal plot lines yet, without leaving the viewer feeling shortchanged -- all within its 30-minute timeslot.

Now in its third season, the conversation around Black-ish seems to have dissipated a bit, but the series is still going strong and proving its importance to right now.

Nov 11, 2016 | Full Review…

To Black-ish's credit, the fact that they dramatized real marital problems without giving them an easy fix is a major achievement for a sitcom.

Black-ish often excels with more serious moments, particularly when they deal directly with racial and political issues.

Tuning in week-to-week, growing invested in these characters, that investment doesn't just disappear with something shiny. And there's really nothing shinier than taking your show to Disney, especially right out the gate.

one of the worst infomercials that I have seen. We get it. ABC owns Disney cross promotion. The spoiled kids, the spoiled parents. This was terrible.
