What to Know

Critics Consensus

Elegantly plated but over-seasoned with grit, Black Rabbit's unrelenting edginess can be off-putting but Jason Bateman and Jude Law's committed performances make for a satiating enough meal.

Every time I’d find myself drawn in by how well-presented the whole affair seemed, I’d be struck by a turn in the narrative, or an excess scene. Go to Full Review

You can see the outline of a series that more successfully blends The Bear with whatever crime show you prefer. The brothers, though, are such a drag that the rest of Black Rabbit can't overcome them. Go to Full Review

Black Rabbit is not a bad show. It’s even sometimes a good show, especially as the series deepens its core relationship in the back half of its eight-episode run. Go to Full Review

While much of Black Rabbit’s allure lies in its after-dark aesthetic and fractured narrative designed for maximum intrigue, it’s a trio of central performances that really draw you in. Go to Full Review

Intense, thrilling, and surprisingly strong from beginning to end, Black Rabbit is worth the chase all to get to an ending that reminds us just how good Jason Bateman, Jude Law, and Troy Kotsur can be. Go to Full Review

Amber F. @Latonia May 3 Complex characters and a high intensity plot to match. I enjoyed every episode, can’t understand the low reviews. See more John F @JorgeLopez Apr 10 It's all over the place. Has potential. See more Joe P. @joeprice.00 Mar 31 Although slow and drug out at times it portrays an unfortunate yet common narrative in today’s society a tale as old as time; the prodigal son. The show kept me on the edge of my seat even when I knew how it would inevitably end… Its relatable whichever way you flip the coin. The ending was a beautiful disaster. I loved it This was Jason Bateman’s best acting and I hope to see more of this character from him. See more Ry N @RyGuy Mar 25 Jake is a successful restaurant owner that flies his deadbeat brother, Vince, back into town and gets tied into his debt. See more 12thJewel T @RT51707081 Mar 22 Annoyed! They start with the ending than drag you through 7 episodes to show you essentially the same ending with no conclusion at the end See more Lucile F @lucile_fl Mar 20 Black rabbit is characterised by its high quality cinematography and fractured scenes which give it a suspenseful aspect that sustains the viewer’s attention and curiosity. The performance of the two leads is remarkable and the show outlines the opposing personalities of the brothers and the strong bond that unifies them. As the viewer, we truly feel for for both of them, one because of the trauma and self-inflicted guilt and the other because of his generosity, constant will to help and to be the person everyone can rely on. Although the plot is, at times, a little hard to follow with what feels like slightly irrelevant side stories, Black Rabbit is worth a watch. See more Read all reviews
