Black Snow may not be the best crime drama of the year, but it does at least try to investigate a much broader injustice than just whodunit. Go to Full Review

It could have been a disaster, but it isn’t. It’s a real breath of fresh air. Go to Full Review

It’s a cracking start by creator and writer Lucas Taylor. Go to Full Review

This is a moody, well-made crime drama that forefronts a little-explored area of Australian culture and history, and so definitely worth adding to your queue. Go to Full Review

Come for Australia's latest must-stream crime drama, and the first of 2023, then, but stay for a show that embraces and interrogates much more than its recognisable basic setup typically indicates. Go to Full Review

Tightly directed by Sian Davies and Matthew Saville and created with cultural input from the local South Sea Islander community, it’s a hugely compelling mystery. It’s also handsomely shot by cinematographer Eric Murray Lu. Go to Full Review

Alain E @AlainE Dec 30 Full of fake tension. In the opening scene a young black girl pedals furiously in an abandoned area at night until she reaches a phone booth, tries to make a call and a mysterious vehicle appears playing loud music. In the next scene the hero of the series asks a friend to punch him forcefully in the head. He is supposedly a cop that doesn’t know that this is a good way to get a concussion or a subdural hematoma or worse. Enough for me. See more Nadia A @RT42936318 Jul 31 Wow! This unsolved mystery serie is really interesting. The main character played by Travis Fimmel is simply captivating ans always perfect in his performance. I can't wait to see what happens next. See more Mr P @RT11302800 Jul 29 Travis Frimmel became very irritating as the Vikings played out, that's nothing compared to his gurning, eye rolling, twitching and smirking performance in this drama. The stories are ok The cinematography is excellent The acting is average The star is gorgeous but infuriating. See more joe m @RT24550070 May 28 What a hidden gem. was hooked and binged season 1 and 2 back to back in 24 hours. hope theres a season 3 See more David B @RT43068523 May 17 I likened this. OK sometimes the acting isn’t great and a bit stereotyped but so what ? I like the general and sometimes mysterious mood / tenor that envelopes the whole thing and for us Poms the settings are amazing ( adding to the sense of mysterious and sometimes unsettling atmosphere). I like that with this and series two there are background themes / issues also running through the episodes and similarly the detectives own issues/ back story. Overall pretty dam good! Look forward to future series! See more Fenris B @RT32292833 Apr 27 Nothing groundbreaking here. Watching the story play out in the past as the future puts the pieces together is the good part, watching Fimmel eyetwitch and headroll and shoulder-touch instead of act gets annoying after awhile (but he's so charismatic I tend to forgive him, his charisma is almost a plot point in both seasons), infuriating is how the consequences in the present don't seem to jive with the tragedy of the past. like, at all. Cinematography is great though, all the technical aspects are there and well done. See more Read all reviews
