Season 1
Blindspotting

Critics Consensus

The rare adaptation that exceeds its source material, Blindspotting deftly takes on complicated social constructs with comedic flair, crafting a show that's as funny as it is poignant while giving its incredible ensemble --- led by the captivating Jasmine Cephas Jones -- plenty of room to shine.

    Different but very entertaining.

This is like, Shameless but make it black and not funny at all.

At first, I was confused what the show is about: is it a musical, spoken word, or a genre I am completely unfamiliar with? But the show grew on me as I continued to watch more episodes. I'm still confused as to why the main protagonist's love interest sold drugs or didn't mention his ring. Is the ring intended for her or something else? Other than that, the show is actually interesting episodes later.

Boring and try-to-hard. Not sure what the genre is either because it's not funny so it's not comedy. It's definitely not drama or action. What is this?

This is a great show that feels like a breath of fresh air with the thoughtful choreography introduced into the story line with the intimacy of being at the ballet! Only 4 episodes in and I'm connected to all of the characters as you can literally feel the vulnerability of the story! This is must see T.V. true to poetic form and drama! My Husband and I both are immensely enjoying this series without ever seeing the movie! Sinful, I know....but now we have something to watch once we're out of episodes!

Absolutely full of itself and dreadful. You were warned.
  • Jun 22, 2021
This show is underrated. It's pretty good so far, lots of good talent and entertaining to say the least.
  • Jun 20, 2021
Only watched the first two episodes so far (because they're the only one out) but Blindspotting's take on the world is funny, fresh, innovative, and compelling. I only want to stay in that world and am sad when the episode ends. Everything from the set, to wardrobe, to makeup, to acting and directing is phenomenal. I adore when Ashley drops into verse and it really helps her connect to us. Jasmine Cephas-Jones, Rafael Casal, and Daveed Diggs genius are a must-see here!! TV adaptation done right!! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT FEW EPISODES!!

Fresh, fun, creative, and different, all the things I want in a new tv show. If you saw the movie ( recommended ), this show will be amazing for you as a continuation and if you haven't and just want a new show, this is a must-see! Can't wait to see the rest of the season play out!
