Critic Reviews for Blood & Treasure Season 1
All Critics (13) | Top Critics (5) | Fresh (7) | Rotten (6)
CBS probably knows it has a lemon here.
An unashamed mishmash of Hot Archaeologist tropes, Blood and Treasure is a great Saturday night binge.
CBS' new summer action-adventure Blood & Treasure is like a comedian putting together a celebrity impression reel in hopes of making it on Saturday Night Live.
Blood & Treasure is a harmless, unabashed throwback and completely forgettable.
This isn't the kind of show that's trying to reinvent the wheel so much as go for a joyride that can be thrilling even if the destination is clear all along.
Blood & Treasure provides everything you'd expect of it, holding no surprises to distract you from its sexy and fast-paced antics.
There's just enough hints of character throughout "The Revenge of Farouk" that offer a glimpse of what a different, superior series it could eventually become.
These first two episodes did a great job of leaving many questions unanswered.
Violent treasure hunt action series is fast-paced fun.
In a way, this is the type of show that only broadcast network TV can do well; dumb fun, nothing to think much about, lavish location shoots, and two appealing leads.
"Blood & Treasure" reminds you some things are better left buried.
Blood & Treasure is a recognizable Halloween costume and an unreliably silly piece of fodder that's too dumb to be good and not crazy enough to be a good time.
Audience Reviews for Blood & Treasure: Season 1

Sep 14, 2020The adventure genre is severely lacking in TV and this show is a fantastic getaway into that world.
-
Aug 22, 2020It was something new and different. I found it entertaining and amusing as well as keeping me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next! I am so glad it has been renewed. I have been waiting all summer for it to come back!
-
May 27, 2020loved it 100% great chemistry.

Feb 17, 2020It is a good clean movie made you think kept you on the couch with a large bowl of popcorn,,, please keep up wit the series great to enjoy with the WHOLE family.,,,,
-
Jan 02, 2020well this is just another treasure hunt series with a nazi, an egyptian man who obsessed stealing Cleopatra, a brotherhood who insist cleopatra is their "heritage", a man who used to be FBI and a thief who work with former FBI try to retake the treasure to belonging country. That is my recap for the story. Nothing less, nothing more

Oct 04, 2019Great multi dimensional plot!
-
Aug 29, 2019This was a lot of fun! Modern day Indiana Jones - thrills, chills & spills. Can not wait for season two!
-
Aug 05, 2019fantastic series....
-
Aug 04, 2019I want, now and then, what used to be called "escapist" entertainment, despite my intellect and education. We're all human. Though this doesn't ever "gel" as cast seems mismatched and there's none who is irresistible, but on the other hand, I don't have to think about it very much, and as I said, I occasionally appreciate broad drama.

Jul 24, 2019A big Meh. Yes, it passed the time and that was about the best compliment I could give it. Basically it was a knockoff of Whiskey Cavalier only not as good. There wasn't the chemistry between the actors, the story line is one giant arc that makes it difficult for latecomers to follow and imperative you don't miss an episode and you watch them in order. And some of it is just plain lame. It's formulaic too. With Whiskey Cavalier canceled (a superior show) this is now the only game in town for the genre. Oh, and please, PLEASE stop with the punny humor. Indiana Jones you're not. The ONLY reason this show has an audience at all is that it's summer and there is no competition. It is basically the only show in town. Not exactly a glowing endorsement. It did score two name actors in Obed Fehr and John Laroquette but there isn't enough screen time for either of them to rate this show higher. Just a...meh.
