Tv Season Info

Season 3 of the animated sitcom that follows the escapades of hamburger restaurateur Bob Belcher (voice of H. Jon Benjamin) is highlighted by the "O.T.: The Outside Toilet" episode that was Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Animated Program. In it, Gene (Eugene Mirman) is flush with excitement when he discovers and befriends an expensive talking toilet, and when Louise (Kristen Schaal) and Tina (Dan Mintz) become privy to his secret he recruits them to help hide his new buddy from a villainous potty hunter. A Halloween outing scares up laughs as the Belcher kids break with a long-standing trick-or-treat tradition and veer away from their usual local haunts in favor of a posh neighborhood that's known for doling out oversize goodies. And in the season finale, Gene signs up for baseball, while Tina becomes hooked on espresso.

This was the year "Bob's Burgers" really took off. Seasons 1 and 2 were delightful and impressive, top to bottom. But they were still searching for their narrative groove.

It's a tremendously funny episode, and that it makes you laugh throughout makes the plot easier to take.

The show uses the ideas of family unity into a great start to the third season and showcases why Bob's Burgers is the best animated show on television today.

What makes the show sing, though, is dialogue that cracks like a whip, jokes flying thick and fast with precision timing, delivered by a peerless voice cast.

It's a modest, smile-inducing affair that just doesn't take enough creative risks and doesn't have the creative spark of the best animated TV.

This show is already great on a regular basis, and the third season has the chance to solidify it as one of the best on TV.

in season 3 we see a lot of improvements on the comedy writing and animation, but sometimes the character development could be borderline annoying.

In Season 3, Bob's Burgers' shows the world why it's one of the best animated shows on television, with a great family dynamic and consistently good laughs.
  • Dec 19, 2014
The third season of Bob's Burgers is particularly strong, and it's arguably the year the show found it's voice. Zany and irreverent as ever, but of more merit is that by this year the show has set up it's world for good, with returning characters and episode points. The only great show currently on Fox's Animation Domination block.
