Critic Reviews for Bonding Season 2
All Critics (3) | Top Critics (1) | Fresh (3) | Rotten (0)
Bonding has arrived for Season 2 and is as sassy as ever... Most episodes come in at about 20 minutes and it is very entertaining drollery.
Season 2 stands out for focusing far less on the leather of it all, and far more on the underlying emotional connection, vulnerability, communication, and boundary-setting that can make ethical BDSM an incredible vehicle for deepening relationships.
Bonding season 2 is more fruitful and more emotional.
Audience Reviews for Bonding: Season 2
-
Feb 19, 2021The end of the whole series is kinda mehhhh... Does that mean it's the finale already? But no clue on what more can be happened after such an ending.
-
Feb 17, 2021Season 1 showed promise but S2 lost all the steam within the first episode. It tries very hard to be funny and cute with its charming actors and the color coordinated costuming and sets - kind of like Emily in Paris but with leather harnesses. The plot goes no where and doesn't progress in any meaningful way devolving into irrelevance. Too bad because I feel like there might have been something there; perhaps in more capable hands.

Feb 16, 2021After an exciting first season, the show has already ran out of energy and originality.
-
Feb 16, 2021My wife and I love this show. Funny, sexy, and the characters are great.
-
Feb 14, 2021The first season was fun and fast paced. The second season is overly serious but not about much. There are no strong consequences. The characters don't have goals and their fatal flaws are undefined. Even if the show was granted the 50 minute long episodes it clearly wants to have, it wouldn't have much to say anyway.
-
Feb 08, 2021the show developed its narrative and made us more emotionally involved with the characters in s2
-
Feb 08, 2021Although season 2 has attempted to a create a more educational yet deep and meaningful look into the world of BDSM, trying to compensate for the criticism received for the first season by the community, it sacrifices the complexity of the narrative, resulting in a poorly written screenplay which makes it seem like an uninspired drama more than an insightful comedy.
-
Feb 05, 2021The series has improved a lot and has risen to a new level. What was once a silly series full of inaccuracies about BDSM, is now a mature series with a much better development of its characters. The first season was negatively criticized by the BDSM community for containing many inaccuracies about the BDSM universe, but in Season 2 they fixed most of the problems that were pointed out.
-
Feb 05, 2021Season 1 of Bonding was gritty and very funny, but it also missed the mark on telling the audience anything real about BDSM. Season 2 has way more feels, and although some may complain that this season isn't as filled with laughs, it succeeds in exploring the education, philosophies and real work involved with BDSM.

Feb 04, 2021This was the season for character archs, but I miss the bite and underground feeling of the first seasons (that feeling of "should I really be watching this?" ) That was so brilliant about the first one and the writing was hilarious and often poignant. I still like the characters I grew to love in season 1 and had hope towards the end to her able to see where the series might go next. For me, though the highlight was Mistress Mira (a new character) --- I don't know who the actress is but she was amazing - I was transfixed with her with each episode. She was the best part for me this time around.
