Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who works at the Jeffersonian Institution and also writes books, has an impressive ability to read clues from victims' bones. Consequently, law enforcement calls her to assist with investigations when remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed that standard identification methods are useless. Brennan is teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth, a former Army sniper, who mistrusts science and scientists when it comes to solving crimes but who has developed respect for Brennan, both professionally and personally.

After the premiere episode it's nice to see the couple all functional again. Granted, it takes a murder... to truly accomplish this, but we take what we can get. And the results really are quite entertaining. Go to Full Review

With a lot of tell-not-show and with the series using new characters as intermediaries between our central pair, [the premiere] felt phoned in. Go to Full Review

Nikita M @RT69513576 Jul 24 This series captured the perfect balance between science, intelligence and human emotional stories all woven together threw solving murders. It stands alone in its incredibly smart, witty writing and story lines against all its competition. The actors are all perfect in the cast and you can't help falling in love with them all over this amazing series. I just rewatched S9, Ep11 - The Spark in the Park, and while there are soo many episodes competing for best concept.. this one really moved me to tears with the beauty of how a savant of intellect and math deals with grief and loss. The father loses his daughter and when Brennan goes to see him at the end he has 3 chalkboards full of complex math.. and since Brennan is also a savant in her intellect she can figure out what it means. The story of his daughters life, threw math, is how he grieves and the only way he knows how. It so surprising beautiful that for the first time I actually felt like I understood how a person like the dad, who may seem detached as super genius sometimes are, feels life and loss. It was one of the best I've seen. One of my other favourites, on the total opposite side of the spectrum, was when a teenager dies and the Medium friend of the cast drops by and connects with the spirit of the boy and tries to help him threw the cast. The way it is shot was BRILLIANT.. it's all told threw the eyes of the boy via the skull they have while running tests to find his killer and truth. So powerful as well. Such an amazing show. See more steve d @RT35616104 08/11/2020 After Pelant the new arch is a bit of a let down, but the show is still fun. See more russell h @RT85733992 02/19/2019 Pelant continues to be a mainstay in the series and we get a nice wedding that probably should have been saved for the end of the series. See more 10/14/2014 Season 9 of Bones moves the series in a new direction and takes its characters to some interesting places. The writing is particularly good, and is able to creating character stories that evolve throughout multiple episodes and often overshadow the crime-of-the-week. Some of the season's over-arcing plotlines include the hunt for Pelant, Booth and Brennan getting married, Cam dealing with an identity theft, and the Jeffersonian team uncovering a new conspiracy involving a mysterious Ghost Killer. As usual, an impressive number of guest stars are lined up, featuring Freddie Prinze Jr., John Ratzenberger, and Joaquim de Almeida. Even in its ninth season, Bones continues to find ways to be fresh and exciting. See more 08/13/2014 Bones evolved to high-profile entertaining material with a smarter, stronger set of story-lines. So it happens also to give fresh expectations to future installments. See more 05/28/2014 Fantastic cast, fun, love-able characters, emotional. One of those shows you watch because you love the cast and the characters they play. See more Read all reviews
