Tv Season Info

In the noirish comedy's second season, Jonathan Ames (Jason Schwartzman) has finally finished his second novel, but that doesn't mean he can quit moonlighting as a private detective. In fact, Jonathan even has a third job teaching a night-school writing class. Meanwhile, Ray (Zach Galifianakis) is having relationship problems, and George (Ted Danson) gets a surprise at his urologist's office. Jonathan's cases this season include a police officer who hires him to scrub his name from the client list of an S&M dungeon that's about to be raided; and a professor in a financial bind who asks Jonathan to retrieve an item of great value. F. Murray Abraham and Kevin Bacon are among the guest stars.

The colliding worlds serves Bored To Death well, and I'm hopeful this season will find much more of that.

September 26, 2010 | Rating: B+ | Full Review…

Far from an empty barrage of one-liners and absurd scenarios, Bored to Death offers one or two poignant scenes per episode, dramatic interludes that nonetheless feel organic with the larger, somewhat farcical mood.
