Breaking Bad has been spinning these characters and stories like plates, and so far none of them have wobbled.

Breaking Bad is in one of those rare zones right now where nearly every visual, plot or character element is enriching the whole.

It was sixty minutes at high throttle, and the strain sometimes showed.

A violent thriller with brief respites of dark humor, Breaking Bad is exceptional TV entertainment, but it sure can be uncomfortable to watch.

Smart but never slick, funny but never glib, dark but never (praise all saints and angels) noir, Breaking Bad is actually not another addition to the Brotherhood of the Made Guy formula, it turns out to be the formula's antidote.

Cranston's incredibly bold but nuanced portrayal of Walter White, a man who "broke bad" under extreme circumstances, is emblematic of a series poised to break out.

Audience Reviews for Breaking Bad: Season 2

Season 2 of Breaking Bad dives in deeper and presents a more suspenseful ride. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul's continuous majesty as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman creates for a compelling season. 4.5/5

All the pieces were set on S02 for the nailbiting upcoming showdowns. This season moves slowly, but with intricate detail. All that happens has a consequence and our characters will know that the hard way. S02 is a bit more focused on family ties, with Walter slowly growing more worried with Jesse as if he was his own child, but still manipulating him for his own ends.

Having it's ups and downs, season two of "Breaking Bad" is not quite a letdown, but more of a roller coaster ride of emotions. I felt myself loving some of the episodes, hating some of the episodes, and just not wanting to view the awkward ones. This is the one season in this series that teeters back and forth for me, because while he lies to his family, we can't help but side with them and have a very uncomfortable time watching. It can be a pretty uneasy viewing experience. Bryan Cranston however; improves on his performance from the first season if that even seems possible, making for one hell of a turn-around by the seasons finale. Not to say that it isn't, but the second season feels the least climatic of the bunch. The writing is still very solid, the acting stronger than ever, and the plot twists and eerieness are all still present. Overall, I had agreat time watching it, but I felt that this season needed a bit more flavour to go with the subject matter. It is still highly, highly recommended.
