Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to follow in her parent’s footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes’ mamas. Despite proclaiming that they want nothing the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society’s expectations for their future.

The main love story is just as much magic as it is grounded, it starts off as this swoon-worthy fairytale like story where you feel that these two people are soulmates but just because they are soulmates and meant to be together, doesn't mean they will not encounter troubles, there are miscommunication and misunderstandings which makes it feel extremely realistic, it shows how you have to work on your relationship, have difficult conversations, understand each other to actually move forward. Love is an action not just a feeling. The emotional intimacy is off the charts from the get go. Both characters are given enough time to actually know and fall for each other, while individually growing exponentially throughout their journey. There is a gentle tenderness to their chemistry that is divine. It helps that the side plots are not only fleshed out well but also end up being cohesive during the climax.
