An Australian comedy-drama series about Olympia "Oly" Chalmers-Davis, an overachieving 17-year-old student who knows exactly where she's going. Oly and her best friend Reema share an ambitious 10-year plan: top grades, international relations at a university, work for the U.N. and save the world. But an unplanned pregnancy changes everything. Blindsided and in deep shock, Oly rejects the baby entirely. If she doesn't acknowledge the baby, then she doesn't have to acknowledge how her life has irrevocably changed, or that the baby's father is not her boyfriend's.

It can be hard to find entertaining, easy-to-watch TV that doesn’t break the spell of believability with groan-worthy exchanges or fantastical lifestyle porn or ludicrous coincidences. But this show avoids those pitfalls. Go to Full Review

Throughout, Bump is nicely written and performed, packed with bittersweet, wry observations on blended families, lifestyle shocks and everyday existence. Go to Full Review

Bump’s final season might be a bit busy, but spending time with this unruly clan is abundantly gorgeous. They’ll be sorely missed next year. Go to Full Review

Karen F 01/21/2025 I've been a fan of Bump all the way through – the humour is so quirky while tackling some really relatable issues. But I found Season 5 to be something special – absolutely sublime in parts, actually. Won't give any spoilers, but it deals with some really heavy stuff in its characteristic way – with lots of heart, humour and love. Really, really well done. Crying buckets here. See more Randalin E 01/11/2025 A Beautifully Unconventional Goodbye. Season five of Bump delivered a deeply emotional and satisfying conclusion, standing out for its bold storytelling choices. Unlike some viewers, I found the decision to air the last three episodes "out of order" refreshing and poignant. It allowed fans to bid farewell to the characters in a way that felt reflective and heartfelt, rather than rigidly linear—a choice that amplified the emotional resonance of the finale. As always, Nathalie Morris and Claudia Karvan shone as Oly and Angie, bringing to life the intricate layers of motherhood without ever letting it dominate the show’s broader themes. Their nuanced performances captured the complexities of this relationship with authenticity and warmth, subtly grounding the narrative. True to its spirit, Bump continues to tackle themes that other shows often avoid—death, birth trauma, and the universal struggle between holding on to the past and embracing the future. These weighty topics were interwoven seamlessly with the humor and messiness of life, creating a tapestry of stories that felt raw and relatable. Of course, Bump is not without its quirks. Some moments leaned into awkwardness—Rosa’s idiosyncrasies are charming, but with her youngest son, those same moments tipped into cringe-worthy territory. Yet, even these missteps felt like part of the show’s charm, a reminder of its unvarnished approach to storytelling. I’m grateful I stayed with Bump until the end. The final three episodes were especially powerful, delivering a wave of emotions that lingered long after the credits rolled. This season was a bittersweet farewell to a show that dared to embrace imperfection and authenticity in equal measure. See more Hayley R 01/06/2025 This season was the perfect way to wind up the series. The last few episodes had my boyfriend and I with tears in our eyes. Being able to see Anges experience from the side of the patient, and the family’s experience of her illness, was a privilege. The multiculturalism of the show, the Australian mixed with South American cultures, and other representatives of other countries, is a pretty incredible reflection of what living in this country is like. We love the story, the acting, and the way it reminds us what is important in life. Thank you for taking us with you through this journey. See more Kathryn G 01/01/2025 This beautiful, charming show’s final season was perfect. Yes, the final episodes are out of order, but the tragic revelation in episode eight serves to heighten the poignancy in the final two episodes. As Angie and Jacinda enter the pink hue of the car wash, Jacinda’s head resting on her grandmother’s shoulder, the Davis-Chalmers family matriarch is given a peaceful and beautiful ending to her story. The final shot of Oly’s face, as she proclaims that she is ready, provides a fitting exclamation mark for this lovable, charming character’s narrative. The high-achieving, super organised school girl who was derailed by a surprise pregnancy at sixteen, is now a woman who is ready for birth; motherhood; ready for her career, her family and ultimately the death of her mother. See more Kate G 12/30/2024 Worst last episode ever, and the last 3 episodes were in the wrong order. Could have been a cracker for the final season, but the writers royally screwed this series. See more Gemma S 12/29/2024 It's a great series but season 5 skips forward in time too quickly in episodes seem like they are months/years apart. Still a great series though and should definitely watch it. See more Read all reviews
