A mysterious illness targets high school girls and brings lawyer Joanna Hanley back to her hometown. In a town that's as familiar as it is foreign, Joanna seeks to convince the locals that her family's hurried departure when she was a teenager wasn't her doing. She is drawn into the shadowy world of hackers, political movements, and activists. When Joanna becomes the target, someone from her past shows up to try and alter the course of the events. With unemployment rates rising, tensions in town are running high, leaving some to retreat further from town.

The series is as good as it needs to be, and maybe a little better. Go to Full Review

After spending four years hilariously miscast as a detective on The CW's Beauty & the Beast, Kreuk is quite fine in Burden of Truth. Go to Full Review

Chances are you will find someone to cheer on as we watch them grow over five or so years. Go to Full Review

In a refreshing change of pace, the usual teen tropes take a backseat to the very real stakes that come with trying to survive a medical crisis. Go to Full Review

What the show lacks in non-stop action and suspense, it more than makes up for it in character development and mystery of a hidden wound that would not heal. Go to Full Review

This is Sharp Objects-lite, but it's definitely better than most of what we've seen on The CW that doesn't involve superheroes or Supernatural. Go to Full Review

08/21/2021 One of the most overacted shows on tv today. Characters are not relatable or likable. See more 08/19/2020 I like this show because I love lawyer and courtroom dramas. Also it is refreshing to watch a show without senseless bedroom scenes and not every other word begins with f. See more steve d 08/03/2020 Kristin Kreuk is great and the case is powerful and deeply interesting. See more 01/15/2020 I bing watched the first season..now on season 2..It is great. I loved seeing how the main character, ( Kristin Kreuk) evolves as she is one of my favorites..Has enough suspense and story line to keep me interested in the show. I hope it continues.. See more Paul A 03/19/2019 This is a great show. It's a show that works for the whole family to watch as it's a mixture of interesting stories, interesting characters and great mysteries to solve. See more 09/24/2018 Burden of Truth is pretty disappointing. I was excited because I loved the main character from "Smallville" and "Beauty and the Beast" but it is a total knock off. They stole their entire plotline from episode 4 "Toxic" of season two of the show "Perception". If TNT isn't getting paid by CW for this show they should be! I'm not a fan of plagiarism.
