Ultimately, Buried is a compelling recounting of the story that makes the characters and their motivations come alive. It's clear why Franklin-Lipsker's story came to symbolize an inflection point in the memory wars... Go to Full Review

Buried is balanced and thorough, and not interested in injecting flashiness, à la docuseries like Tiger King. Go to Full Review

You'll end the third episode generally indecisive, and then you'll end the fourth episode wondering why the directors thought they had a four-hour documentary to make from this story. Go to Full Review

There are a few stylistic hiccups... but for the most part [Yotam Guendelman and Ari Pines'] approach to this case works. Go to Full Review

01/17/2022 Definitely one of the better docuseries. Most of these we usually end up falling asleep on the couch, but this kept us interested through all episodes. See more the s @The_Stranger 12/13/2021 I'm surprised this series hasn't gotten more attention and stirred more debate than it has. Really well done, well presented, manages to stay unbiased in how the whole thing is presented, which wouldn't be easy to do for a producer or director. Also touches on a huge debate from the 90s when repressed memory was introduced into the legal system as an argument or presented as a form of ‘witness.' Either way, it's a very compelling story and incredibly well documented and told, showing all sides of the case, speaking to the right people who were directly involved back when it was in court. Interviews with experts in the field of memory and law and how those 2 elements get combined in a court case. I really enjoyed it and think it was one of the better documentary series out this year. If it was a Netflix series, I feel like it would have gotten massive amounts of visibility and sparked a lot of debate so I do hope that viewers will find it and give it a watch because I really do think the producers knocked it out of the park in how it is all managed and presented. Very well done to the director…hope to see this team produce more similar types of docu-series in the coming years. Sometimes filmmakers are able to do what the legal system isn't and sometimes the story in whole is more important than any jury decision or sentence. See more Read all reviews
