Critic Consensus: Burn Notice declines to rock the boat in a fourth season that revels in its narrative slickness and the easygoing repartee among its ensemble.

I continue to like the relationship between Michael, Fiona and Sam, and by this season, things have gelled far beyond their tenuous structure in the earlier seasons.
The fourth season of Burn Notice may have had its share of large overriding mysteries and twists, but it didn't abandon the smaller stories that always offered more insight into these characters and their motivations.
I like the cases of the week just fine -- and in periods when the mythology is floundering, they're the reason to watch.
No program does this kind of thing better... The cast of the show has gotten better every year and they're more than up for the challenge of dramatic plots that don't tidy themselves up in 44 minutes.
There's nothing wrong with a show that just wants to comfortably bask in the Miami sun -- so long as it rolls over and shows some fresh skin every once in a while.
