Tv Season Info

In the seventh and final series, Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) is once again working with the CIA under new handler Andrew Strong (Jack Coleman). But this time he must do his job without the assistance of his trusty team...at least for a little while. His mission is to get close to shady defence-contract facility leader Burke (Adrian Pasdar), who in turn directs Michael to track down Sonya (Alona Tal), a woman being held by Russian spies. But finding Sonya proves to be the easy part; Michael must convince her to clue him into the dealings of her organization and set up a meeting with her boss, the mysterious James (John Pyper-Ferguson). Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell, Coby Bell and Sharon Gless also star.

Burn Notice is done. The narrative arc of the show essentially wrapped more than a year ago.

A solid if not especially inspired start to the show's final run: a villain with potential, some decent Jesse/Sam banter, and at least two instances of people running from explosions in slow motion.

A show that, against the odds, remained wholly its own.

As USA Network's Burn Notice wrapped its seven-season run, sacrifices were made, rights were wronged, things blowed up good and we even got a couple of wonderful winks to the show's ingrained-in-all-our-brains opening credits.

It was a heartbreaking moment.

This is a much different Michael Westen than we've seen before, thus making this a much different Burn Notice than we've seen before. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

I suppose fans will be fine with this, but the final season demonstrates why I find a lot of these final seasons to be tedious and beyond the jumping point past the shark.

Week to week, and especially season to season, I couldn't always tell you exactly what Burn Notice was or wanted to be. But at its best, what it was was something very simple, but much harder to pull off than it looks: Burn Notice was fun.

Farewell, Burn Notice. May Michael continue to dish out spy tips in his head from his couch in front of that roaring fireplace.

Burn Notice never fell into the trap of taking itself too seriously, but it always had a heart.

Nov 26, 2018 | Full Review…

It's worth remembering what an explosive impact Burn Notice had on establishing USA Network's brand of broadly appealing, easy-on-the-eyes escapism, and it has been a key component of the summer lineup since June 2007.

With the introduction of a new boyfriend, a new villain, new bosses, and new status quos to be dismantled, this final Burn Notice season premiere efficiently got the ball rolling again like the show had never left.

This is my favorite series of all time. The characters are great, the plots are fascinating, and the outcomes are always good (isn't that what we like in good versus evil stories?). I mourned this show's cancellation.

USA's Burn Notice wraps up the show nicely in its final season, having great writing, incredible performances from its cast, especially Donovan, and plenty of great action.
