More teen drama than Gothic horror, Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of the Stephen King classic is engaging and propulsive, even if its conspiracy subplot does not quite stick Go to Full Review

Foundation made for an interesting format as a tv show however, material seemed to stretch as plot was resolved couple episodes before finale so stopped momentum and interesting build up. Go to Full Review

A compelling modern adaptation that dials the shock factor to eleven. Carrie maintains a steady pace, though its final two episodes stretch the crescendo a little too far, diluting the impact of its cause and effect. Go to Full Review

Shaina G @shasha83 5 hrs ago Much better than I expected! A great retelling. See more Kevin S @Kevin_Eleven 5 hrs ago Terrific first season. So good. Mike Flanagan is amazing. See more Cole A @coleA428_ 14 hrs ago Amazing fresh take on Carrie. Chris hardened is literally just psychotic in the show and Margaret white is actually likable. First good show I’ve seen in awhile. See more Mone C @Mone77 17 hrs ago Awesome series. I felt that the prom scene and the final confrontation with her mother were better in the 2013 Carrie film, but that doesn’t take anything away from the series. Much like the Friday the 13th series Crystal Lake, this adaptation of the classic Carrie is incredibly well-produced and executed, it brilliantly honors the legacy of both horror properties. The cast is excellent, from the choices for Carrie, her mother, Tommy, and Sue (though I found the character of Sue quite annoying, the actress herself did a great job) to Chris and her parents. It’s a cast that gelled perfectly and really brought the series to life. I’m already looking forward to a second season, as this universe has never been explored as expansively or extensively as it is now being handled by Prime Video. P.S. And it was so satisfying to watch the scene where Carrie kills Chris and her boyfriend by crushing them with the roof of their car. Absolutely, deliciously brutal. See more prawnda S @RT72497680 1 day ago i cannot fathom for the life of me how people are giving this negative ratings. i think there's some kind of review bombing from religious or conservative demographics regarding how carrie's mother is depicted as abusive, controlling, negligent and delusional for... well, being all of those things. iirc it was pretty much the same in every iteration of this story through the years. there's not much politically charged about the portrayal, it's entirely about how her mental illness leads her to harm herself and others, and how those behaviors create negative cycles in others. these are real problems that probably were triggering to some viewers, but the fact that they are difficult to watch doesnt mean they are malicious or propagandistic in nature when the story leans much more into pro-mental health angles and the consequences of disregarding mental health. you dont solve these problems by ignoring them. See more Lynn F @Finley869 1 day ago I think i expected a little bit more horror/halloween-vibes, but it is a good show. That whole more seasons, other people helping her-thing is a big miss for me. Wish it would only be one season. See more Read all reviews
