There's a steadily increasing claustrophobia that comes through in The Dream Door, and it's not just in the conflict between characters on-screen, but also in the set dressing and camera work itself. That is no happy accident.

Channel Zero: The Dream Door will be thematically familiar to faithful viewers, with its uniquely complicated family drama and characters dealing with loss.

The Dream Door... works because it fleshes out the original story. The people become actual characters, and the villains have entire backstories and motivations that cannot be gleaned from the creepypasta.

For fans of slasher films with a psychological edge, The Dream Door will likely do the trick. If you are also just looking for some quality jump scares, this season has those too.

‘Channel Zero: The Dream Door' Is a Madly Creative Treat

The first few episodes were great. The last few episodes had me rolling my eyes. the cheesy acting from the "detectives" and the gruesome deaths were so comical I was reminded that i was watching the syfy channel. Sharknado comes to mind. If i took that out, I would consider this to be netflix quality. Also, this story could've been told in fewer episodes.
