I don't mind vampire story even if it's not very scary..most fans of those should enjoy it.

Subscribed to EPIX to watch From(loved it) and then dropped the subscription while waiting for season 2. Decided to Re subscribe to see what else they had and started watching this! It's great, scary, slow burn horror…..

It would be a really awesome show if they didnt change the story so much it had good atmosphere that gothic look that should have but for some reason they changed the story, but you should give it a go it's not so terrible.

Had not even heard of this which is rare as im always desperate for something to watch. started a bit slow but gets going nicely. enjoyable, eerie. Great ending. Love a good one and done series

Certainly one of the best supernatural / vampire series' out there. If you like the classic vampire concept, without all the late 20th, early 2000s fanciness around it but still with a lot of character, suspense and modern horror elements, you'll certainly enjoy it a LOT. All the acting I thought was good as well, or above average at the very least, not to mention Adrien well... we all know he's brilliant! Only thing I regret, is not finding it sooner.

Great to see Adrien Brody, but the story is run-of-the-mill and the child actors are irritating, mainly because they are so anachronistic. They act and speak like contemporary children. The whole script is so contemporary and pulls you out of the story. The surprise doesn't come until Episode 4. In the meantime, you have to slog through scene after scene of false scares. The cellar! The barn! The viewpoint changes from the main character of Charles Boone (Brody) to Rebecca abruptly. And there is waaay too much exposition. Tedious. Poor Adrien struggles to lift this from the mire.

Just finished watching the whole lot and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very suspenseful creepy and sometimes blood curdling. The atmosphere of the direction was brilliant and the cast should be congratulated for their professionalism.
