Much has been rightly lauded about her talents as a writer, director, and actor. Still, it’s her uncanny gift for physical comedy and her willingness to wholeheartedly embody the clown that leaves a mark. Go to Full Review

The series has a loopy logic to it and a buoyancy that's infectious. Go to Full Review

But the brilliance of Chewing Gum lies in its ability to make this all gruesomely, brilliantly funny, pushing boundaries only to gleefully burst through them and move on to the next misadventure, largely consequence-free. Go to Full Review

Solotiana V 11/24/2024 This is really good actually. See more 03/21/2021 Michaela Coel is a genius. Seriously; I do not say that lightly. After being complete overwhelmed by "I May Destroy You", I thought I should give "Chewing Gum" a second viewing. I must say that I am extremely glad that I did. I found it simply wonderful on first viewing (over a year ago), it was even better -- much! -- the second time around. Brilliant writing, outstanding storyline, and superb acting, particularly by Ms. Cole herself. Do yourself a huge favor and watch it ASAP! You'll be glad you did! See more 02/06/2021 It's one of those series you know you'll watch again. See more 07/26/2020 Michaela Coel showing us again how talented she is, and how talented the cast around her are. I feel like season 1 had slightly more satisfaction for me in terms of how some of the relationships played out. See more 11/04/2018 Esta temporada continua a utilizar situações inacreditáveis e bizarras para fazer humor e, na maioria dos momentos, funciona. See more 06/17/2017 4 out of 5 stars! Very funny show! It takes a little getting used to but once you're a few episodes in, you get it. It's absurd, it's fun, it hilarious! See more Read all reviews
