When by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss) is loaned out to a clandestine CIA/FBI task force, he finds himself teamed up with secretive and roguish CIA Agent Colin Glass (Tom Ellis). Together they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells and geopolitical secrets. On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear – their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows.

So far, “CIA” works well as an average New York City-set law-enforcement procedural. Perhaps that will be enough. Go to Full Review

This is, after all, television, and “CIA” knows what some of us want, or will settle for, from our spies. Go to Full Review

If you’re not going to make something new, you do at least need to make something quality. And an important part of quality is understanding the audience, moment, and subject matter. 'CIA’ does none of that. Go to Full Review

I definitely will be watching it again. Tom Ellis, sweaters, and that little sparkle he gets in his eye when he knows he nailed the line reading. That’s enough for me. Go to Full Review

Even entering with low expectations, it’s hard not to be incredibly underwhelmed by CIA‘s first hour. Go to Full Review

CIA is some pretty standard procedural stuff, with a case that is a bit confusing, and has a conclusion that is only moderately satisfying. Go to Full Review

Valri C @yukon25 May 14 I admit, I did not expect to like this show. Especially since CBS canceled two very good FBI shows to make room for this one. However, I was happy to be surprised by the show. I think the reason it works is due to the three leads - Tom Ellis, Nick Gehlfuss and Necar Zaedgan. All good actors with solid series experience behind them. The chemistry between Colin and Bill is good as well. The pop-ins by random FBI show characters is a nice plus. At first I was afraid they were going to stick to the stereotypical terrorist bomb plots but about half way thru the season, they branched into other terrorist activities. If you want detailed accuracy, this isn't the show for you. If you want entertainment with a bit of a twist, CIA meets that goal. See more Sonia Q @RT21149965 May 7 I’ve been thoroughly enjoying CIA. The story lines are interesting, intriguing and keep me engaged. Collin and Bill play well off each other in their roles and are fun to watch. The other characters are great as well. Love Tom Ellis! See more HannahandEmily K @LOCKEDIN. May 5 CIA is a fantastic, easy-to-watch crime drama series set in New York City, where the CIA and FBI come together in an unlikely partnership. The story follows Bill Goodman, a by-the-book American FBI agent, and Colin Glass, a rogue British CIA operative, as they work together to solve cases. It honestly feels like watching a nostalgic early-2000s police procedural, which is a big part of its charm. The casting is excellent—Nick Gehlfuss and Tom Ellis have great chemistry and really sell the dynamic of this unlikely duo. I’m definitely looking forward to Season 2! See more Michael B @RT98575940 Apr 23 Hard to watch. I really hope that our CIA and FBI agents are smarter than this. Just watched episode 8 and the science makes no sense. Spoiler. I really loved when they let the Lebanese Spy make them dinner and she drugged their water with muscle relaxers and they passed out. The two main characters have a middle school level maturity. See more Fatemeh H @Fhedayat97 Mar 26 I started watching this mainly because I like Tom E's acting. I do not recommend. This is not quality television. See more R T @Jonathanbing Mar 25 The absurdity begins with a Welsh CIA operative, then the entry of the FBI Yikes! There is nothing in the plot that is factual. "Deep Cover", someone signed out Canadian passports. Please! Sad that Dick Wolf has his name on this absurdity. See more Read all reviews
