Community's stop-motion Christmas episode kind of broke my heart... I walked away from the episode with an overwhelming love for one of the most underappreciated characters on TV.
There are comedies whose push for warm-and-fuzzy endings either ring false or just seem unnecessary, but they're an essential part of "Community," and often the most effective part.
Community, you scamp, we missed you. You're meta, messy, and often too cute for your own good. But you're funny.
Community has become a strong enough and well-enough defined show that the best and funniest things its characters can do is simply talk to one another.
What a strange, beautiful, marvel of a series Community has become, such a wonderfully dizzy sideways approximation of the "situation comedy," yet so far richer and smarter than drab connotations those two words conjure up when placed together.
Community is having the opposite of a sophomore slump as it makes claim... to being TV's most adventurous and unpredictable sitcom.
After all the amazingness this season, I can't even begin to imagine how they'll top it next year.
The second season's beginning has had a confidence missing from the first and nothing has been rote so far -- no sophomore slump here.
Community has consistently been the best thing about NBC's Thursday lineup this fall. Awesomely clever, it's the Inception of sitcoms.
Season two may have its bumpy moments, but if Team Community can keep producing comedy of this calibre, season three will be unmissable.
Audience Reviews for Community: Season 2
1d agobest season simple, the episodes are funny and perfect its just a masterpiece
5d agoSame strengths as before and even better grasp of the characters. The side characters are also more fun this time around. While this season's highs are even greater than the previous' its lows are also a little lower.
Apr 22, 2021Just great tv all round definitely worth watching.
Apr 20, 2021Sooo good and has incredible episodes. 10/10
Apr 03, 2021Innovative and meta to the last episode, Community came into its own in Season 2. The most satisfying thing about Community during this period was its ability to flesh out characters with authentic emotional bases. Unlike other sitcoms, the core cast of characters here don't get Flanderized by becoming more outrageous, stereotypical versions of themselves, save for Chang and the Dean who were always intended to be outrageous contrasts and products of a chaotic environment.
Jan 19, 2021The greatest season of TV, period.

Nov 09, 2020the second season of community manages to be as good as the first, all episodes are good, except "abed's uncontrollable christmas" despite being a very bold episode, done entirely in stop-motion.
Sep 25, 2020Greatest season of sitcom ever produced.
