Critic Reviews for Corporate Season 3

All Critics (6) | Top Critics (4)

Its Kafka-esque journeys into absurdity are, I find, irresistible. It's a bit like the short-lived but sharp Better Off Ted, and a bit like The Office, but then it's very much its own nihilistic self.

All of this energy is present right at the top of Season 3, with a fever dream premiere of corporate streaming rights battles, dystopian children's programming, and the cherry-on-top meta-nod to trying to end a TV series in a satisfying way.

Corporate is at its best when it's parodying the small absurdities that maintain the requisite veneer of professional office civility.

Jul 23, 2020 | Full Review…

Like Silicon Valley does in its best episodes, this is a show that acknowledges the noxious nature of office ecosystems and success ladders, and the pointlessness of working oneself out of actually living.

Corporate is a show about real pain beneath a smiling face - but it'll make you laugh, because it's all finally happening to other people.

Aug 31, 2020 | Rating: 8.5/10 | Full Review…

For its third season, Corporate is undeniably still at the top of its game. Even when something doesn't land, which is rare, there's a visual gag or a character's expression to snap things back into place instantly.

What happened? It feels like 20 years of flanderization happened between season 2 and 3. Were there new writers or something? Seriously, what happened? I went back and re-watched seasons 1 and 2 to make sure I wasn't just imagining the massive loss in quality. I'm not. The tone is different. The dark cynical wit is replaced with the humor of a high school kid who spends all day on Reddit. This doesn't even feel like the same show anymore.
