When an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, LAPD detective Mark Meachum, portrayed by Ackles, is recruited to a secret task force, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to investigate. But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions.

The chemistry that steadily builds between her and Jenson Ackles over the season was incredibly well-written, and my appreciation for both actors jumped to "wow, just wow" by the third episode. It kept me on the edge of my seat... this is a law-enforcement show that doesn't wave politely at the mental anguish experienced by officers, while at the same time constructing a suspenseful, authentic, modern day crime-fighting plot. (I am going to look up the writers for this show and follow their careers.) I am 55 years old, have watched an awful lot of cop tv shows, and this show is the best one by far. The best one EVER.
