Usually don't like live actions, but the vibe was spot on and the show was very fun. They missed some things from the anime but overall was amazing

I have zero interest in anime and have never heard of the Cartoon.I just watched the series for what it was knowing nothing about it and was surprised and impressed.It was a mad and bizarre show that blended Japanese culture with Western in a way I have not seen before.The characters were funny and not the arrogant,self righteous superheros that Hollywood constantly bombards us with.It is or rather was one of the most interesting and captivating shows on Netflix.Pretty typical that the cartoon watching kids didn't get it and Netflix have scrapped it and will no doubt replace it with some tiresome zombie drivel.

I wasn't familiar with the anime series/comic source material this was based on so watched it with fresh eyes. Maybe because I wasn't encumbered by making comparisons I personally really enjoyed this quirky, stylistically cool series. It took a few episodes to settle in but from then on it was a blast. The cast all did well in their roles (Cho especially), the music score was epic and the whole ambience and setting was really interesting. A shame it was cancelled so quickly and fans of the source material seemed to dislike it so much.

The new adaptation lacked the style and subtlety of the orginal. Some truly amazing side plots from the anime where completely removed while some absolutely baffling side plots where added. Jet, Spike, and Faye all seemed to be cast well but I disliked everything added to them.

Excellent season, excellent actors. One of the best sci-fi series ever. All the actors have strong personalities and amazing acting ability.

Thanks but no thanks, some things are better left alone & this is one of them. Not everything made into live-action is guaranteed to breathe new life into something so well-known & loved. Although it was made with love for the original in mind, it seriously lacked so much soul & that melancholy noir vibe that only the anime could capture so well. Seriously just go watch the anime

WARNING: The ratings on this show are FAR off! Biased reviews by fans, haters, people who haven't watched it? Who knows. It's an easy 80%, it should be at least 90%. To be honest I didn't expect to laugh this often, the humor got punch, very delightful moments. I also didn't expected that it can be that serious. At first I thought it was a little bit superficial and just all action. But no, the characters are unique and can be quite deep, it made me even almost cry. And last but not least: I didn't expect it to be that cool and smooth. It was a hell of a ride! The music is awesome, with this one, you never want to skip the intro! And by the way: I haven't seen the anime yet nor read the manga. To be honest the preview on Netflix from this live-action series drew me more in than the anime did. Otherwise I would have started with the anime first. The actors are also great, far better than expected too. This series gets better with every episode and the originality and the atmosphere it creates between these two partner Spike Spiegel and Jet Black you'll feel as if you'd be right with them. The 10 episodes are solid, maintain quality and leave you wishing for more while at the same time you'll find yourself reminiscing as if you'd remember good time you spend with a friend. It grew on me! And I didn't expect that either! I love to feel this surprised again.

Sort of gives you the feel of the original show, but story is lacking. Falls prey to the "re-imagining" problems that so many remakes do. If you don't have anything else to do, give it a watch, otherwise, just pass on this.

Honestly, I was dreading the release of this version of the show but after watching it I have to say it completely changed my mind not only did they pick a great cast to represent each character perfectly the story the show portrays is great for anyone who hasn't read the manga or watched the anime or hasn't listen to the audiobook they also did a great job on making us want a second season by showing the most loved character right at the end of season 1
