Oct 14, 2022It was soo realistic, even just in the 1st Story of the 1st Episode: because you Know it's Only Wht Honky Tonk Southerner Types who are Alcoholic Spouse-beaters & are basically the bane of our civilization. They are the Real Scary Monsters. Truly inspiring & fantastically original Hollywood fare to boot.

Apr 02, 2022It's important to keep in mind exactly what this series is if you really want to enjoy it. It's an anthology of horror shorts. And the nature of anthologies is that they're very hit and miss. There are 2 stories to each episode; some episodes are good, some stories are boring. Sometimes the effects are sketchy, sometimes they're just completely uninteresting, sometimes they're super strong. Almost more comparable to Tales from The Dark Side or Monsters from the 80s/90s than the original Creepshow, this is pulp horror…sometimes ironic, sometimes humorous, sometimes scary…ironically almost never creepy. And that's where it loses me…each story has the potential to be a super creepy short but more often than not, they fall way more into that Tales from the Dark Side type of content than stories that are built with any kind of real creep factor. With Nicotero at the helm, there tends to be a heavy focus on the effects and the creatures…which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all…I just think sometimes the writing and stories take a back seat to the effects and the Creepshow team sees most of these stories as an opportunity to do some cool SFX. (Even though a lot of the monster designs/effects look super similar between stories) Still, always worth a watch if you like this type of content or if you want the nostalgia hit of old series like "Monsters." Not easy to rate these types of series where the story and characters change twice per episode but it's solid as far as those kind of anthology type content goes. It's not Twilight Zone by any stretch (then again, nothing is. That's the gold standard of this type of show.) it's not even a Hammer House or Horror level where storytelling is concerned. But it is what it is: kind of fun and kind of entertaining, just don't expect any real creeps or true scares.

Feb 15, 2022This so far was the best season with some of the worst episodes. I would loved to give it a 4.5, but the black and white episode and the cartoon is what took it down a notch. Aside from those two this season was the best, every episode was engaging and had a strong plot and characters. My fav being the time episode.
