Sure, it’s got the gruesome crimes and suspense you’d expect, but it’s also got some of the most empowering, nuanced portrayals of women you’ll find on TV. Go to Full Review

It’s not nearly as strong as it could and should be. Given that the series ran successfully for 15 seasons on CBS with only slight changes to the formula over time, why is this revival trying to fix what wasn’t broken? Go to Full Review

Mania I. @TheMania510 Oct 22 This at one point was must watch TV. Now the show is basically trying to get the killer through the whole season. Not going through the procedural like what made the show great to begin with. The original cast is great but without the character of Spencer Reed it seems a little flat and something is missing. I think there used to be a little bit of humor in it and sometimes that's really needed with a dark subjects that this show explores. The acting is pretty decent but it is slow paced and dreadfully boring in parts. See more MJ M May 15 Used to really enjoy this show, but this season is awful. The characters have become cheesy and forced, while the writing and storyline is holy unbelievable and makes absolutely no sense. So much so that the characters have lines written in to spoon feed the audience of why something is happening and why somebody did something, just so the audience can track what's going on. I find that last point to be extremely vexing because it's plain and simply lazy writing. See more WEReyes A 01/10/2025 These seasons were hardly believable, the program looks as finished and tired as the old age of its characters. It's kind of entertaining, that's why I give it a 2.5 Although the excessive use of a Deus EX Machina is exasperating (A twenty-something girl breaking the neck of a 180 pounds soldier, with her bare hands, for example, among many other situations of this type) It was too fantastic. All that was left was for Superman to show up to save the day. In short, somewhat entertaining, but at the same time forgettable seasons 16 and 17. See more Matt G 01/02/2025 Sure, it's different and if you cannot handle adult themes and language you will be upset the show has matured. In the end, it was entertaining and I often did not know what to expect, a pleasant change from the often predictable predecessor. See more Robert B @Bartmoon711 12/30/2024 Criminal Minds had a great run for the majority of 15 seasons. The dialogue written for some of the BAU members in seasons 16 & 17 is bad. They have the damaged the characters of Prentiss, Penelope and Rossi for some unexplainable reason. It seems like the writers are trying to lighten the load of a dark subject. The story line itself is still interesting. See more E N 09/18/2024 Voit makes an agreement with the FBI then taunts the team the whole season, not bothering to follow it. In no universe is that believable. Season 16 was bad but S17 was even worse. It was painful watching what used to be such an excellent show go so extremely downhill. It was like the writers deliberately convoluted each episode to try to hide the fact that they had no new ideas, or any ideas at all--old or new. The acting went down hill, all characters were suddenly flat, and it generally had nothing to say except "gold star bad." Stop watching this show at Season 15. Nothing that happens in S16 or S17 is in any way how a fan would want to remember this show. See more Read all reviews
