L C @OhHeyL Jun 28 First couple of episodes were ok, but then followed numerous plot holes that actually made me question if I was watching the same show. Capaldi is amazing, even though the dialogue is a bit stiff at times. Cush Jumbo’s character was awful. From bad acting, then bizarre writing where her character walks into gang leader’s drug den, past security who wave her in once she confirms she’s police, then she knows where to go, the ‘gang leader’ willingly wanders away with her when she tells him to put handcuffs on because she’s the police. It gets progressively worse. Seems too many people were trying to influence as the show lost its way which was a shame. Never getting those precious hours back. This one had so many holes, gaps, things that just did not make sense, that I ended up despising it. The detective trying to expose the unjust (as it turned out) incarceration of an alleged subject broke multiple regulations and laws with absolutely no consequences. She was also so smart, that she could find questionable detective work among hundreds of boxes of records or a box containing an inordinate number of recordings. Just unbelievable. And every time it appeared the detective who had questionable morals was corrupt, they would show a scene where he was trying to do the right thing. The writer could not seem to get to the point. Episode 7 was the defining moment of the series for me as we got to finally see what happened after the subject was arrested. Great actors. Great cinematography. Horrible writing.
