In addition to its strong leads and immediately engaging set-up, the crime thriller created by Paul Rutman (Next of Kin) is enhanced by the visual style established by set-up director Jim Loach (son of the rightly revered Ken). Go to Full Review

Jumbo and Capaldi are powerhouses and the crackle of their work together here, much of which they refused to rehearse in advance, elevates a relatively simple question into something much murkier that could, at least in theory, allow for nuance. Go to Full Review

The resolution, when it finally comes, is unsatisfying. After eight episodes, the thinness of the show’s ambitions are revealed. Go to Full Review

The two police officers seem to be playing an intense game of detective chess throughout the series, with a rivalry that makes the viewer want to stay and witness which of the two will deliver the final checkmate. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Luckylady @Linz12 Feb 20 This gets a one star from me REASON: simplest way to put it is this, it’s very pro people of colour, their victimhood and kindness, the whites in it are only good if they seen to be embracing people of colour, the rest are portrayed as just far right / fascist or corrupt! Shame because not a bad plot but it’s just damn insulting to our intelligence and WOKE nonsense! The series ‘hijacked’ is better includes a lot of different races but without the bias! See more Ken D @mynameisken Jan 25 kinda watchable but kinda sleep inducing. meh. See more Chet T Sep 1 Great show! The writing and story was excellent. The actors were believable with some performances high quality (Cush Jumbo). This is a great example of a show that keeps you interested the whole time with great pacing and characters - and doesn't need extra violence, sex or language. Well done. See more Philip R Jul 14 Superb gutsy drama that dealt with many challenging issues. Acting was phenomenal and well cast. I was riveted from the beginning. The reality of it may exhaust many as it is brilliantly grim. See more David S @davidcantswim May 4 One of the best series I've seen to date! Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo are top of their game here. Everything about this series is tight, superbly acted, believable, shocking and with lots of wonderful moments with seamless production and direction Must watch quality and a bit shocking in some scenes.
