Tv Season Info

Series 4 begins with Horatio (David Caruso) confessing to a priest about a killing that took place more than 20 years ago in New York. But his quiet confession is disrupted by gunfire in a cemetery near the church. Back in the lab, Natalie Boa Vista (Eva La Rue), an expert DNA technician specialising in cold cases, begins work and catches the eyes of Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) and Ryan Wolfe (Jonathan Togo). Another woman catching Ryan's attention is aggressive TV reporter Erica Sikes (Amy Laughlin), who proves to be a thorn in his side. Later, Ryan's future as a CSI is placed in jeopardy when he is shot with a nail gun in the corner of his right eye. As for Horatio, his girlfriend Rachel (Kimberly Page) is murdered and he becomes a suspect in the case. He claims he is being framed by Walter Resden (Damian Young), a serial killer he pursued 10 years ago in New York. Horatio's Internal Affairs nemesis Rick Stetler (David Lee Smith) isn't convinced. Making things even worse, a department mole is parceling out damaging information about the lab to the Feds. As for Delko, he comes under fire when a murder suspect claims Delko buys marijuana from him. Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander) also feels the heat when a registered sex offender living in her neighbourhood is beaten to death and the cause may be directly related to Alexx hanging posters warning neighbours of the man's presence. In addition, Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter) considers making a job change, and Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) from the New York crime lab arrives in Miami to pursue an escaped killer.

By employing more flexibility in terms of storylines, the Miami characters feel more real, although each episode still offers a genuinely satisfying mystery.

The fourth season was a rich one thanks in large part to [David] Caruso's continued excellence in the lead role.

"Miami" sets itself apart on occasion by focusing on the rampant gang activity and drug running in the fair Florida city, but that damned David Caruso still makes it the least of the three series.
