What to Know

Critics Consensus

Daisy Jones & the Six comes up short at evoking the rockstar credentials that were implied on the page, but the lively duet of Riley Keough and Sam Claflin give this adaptation enough verve to occasionally bring the house down.

The series’ protagonist is depressingly one-dimensional, despite being modelled on Stevie Nicks. Go to Full Review

Daisy Jones admittedly does have a bit of an artificial sheen to it; if you’re looking for a raw depiction of 1970s rock, this is most certainly not it. But if you enjoy listening to Stevie Nicks while drinking white wine with smokey eye shadow... Go to Full Review

There are soppy moments and a little too much flailing, but there is also plenty to like here, notably the charismatic lead performances from Claflin and especially Keough, who sings and twirls like Stevie Nicks... Go to Full Review

Daisy Jones & The Six is sure to please fans of Reid’s novel. The series strikes familiar chords but is worth the watch—and certainly worth the listen. Go to Full Review

While it may not be entirely original and may fall into several commonplaces of this type of story about bands or singers, it offers a different way of telling the story and is sustained by the charisma of its protagonists. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Brendan K @Bkeller25 Oct 21, 2026 This show is just absolutely terrific, and it gets better with every rewatch. The stellar acting and writing allow you to feel all the emotions and intensity of being in a touring rock band in the 70s. The ending had me floored. Definitely a top 5 show for me! If you are a fan of music and 70s culture, this is an absolute must watch. The music featured is incredible, and I even went right to downloading the album after watching. See more Barry R @barryrodgers Jun 13, 2026 It seems like a very airbrushed and sanitized version of a 1970s rock story but it has it's moments. It lost me when Daisy turned up in Greece and married a man with a 2023 haircut, 2023 clothes and spoke in a very 2020s kind of way. I mean, time travel exists! Who knew?? See more Dave C. @AsburyD Aug 2, 2025 I’m not sure if this show was meant to be a serious and sincere homage to this great era of rock history, or a straight-faced humorous parody of it without a laugh track. You may enjoy it as “70s rock and roll cliche bingo,” because it’s all there: drugs, infidelity, jealousy, writer’s block, self-doubt, comebacks. The somewhat grainy and weathered look and feel helps from an authenticity standpoint, but the “Days of Our Lives” level of storytelling, severely undermines what looks like a promising show on the outside for fans of this era. See more Alexis D @mortapple1 Jul 14, 2025 Casually came across this show and it was so riveting! Two weeks layered I had finished the entire thing and had incorporated more than the album into my top playlists. Relationships—good, bad, enthralling, ill-fated, and loving were all powerful. Loved, loved, loved the build to the last episode and how they closed it. Just wish the crowds and spaces had been bigger earlier. The music is that good and they should have caught fire as soon as they recorded the songs. Highly recommend the show! See more Shaz J @RT04050624 Jul 8, 2025 Discovered this little gem on Amazon Prime last week and ended up binge-watching the whole thing — it’s that good. I haven’t been able to get the music out of my head since. The soundtrack is seriously addictive. Riley Keough absolutely shines as Daisy — clearly inherited some of that vocal magic from her granddaddy Elvis. Her voice is stunning, and her acting matches it. Sam Claflin also gives a strong performance as Billy— his singing was a bit hit and miss at times, but when he and Riley share the stage, the chemistry is electric. I haven’t read the book, so I can’t speak to how faithful the series is, but as a standalone show? Fantastic. Gritty, emotional, and beautifully shot. Definitely Fleetwood Mac vibes See more Urs P @booptoot Jun 25, 2025 I wish the characters were a bit more fleshed out but the music is excellent See more Read all reviews
