The closer he digs to the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee. Chee, too, has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other and their own personal demons on the path to salvation. Daniel Fienberg Hollywood Reporter McClarnon’s screen presence is limitless. He’s funny when required, tormented as needed and, in a show driven by its main character’s inquisitiveness, a marvel when it comes to being still yet intellectually curious. Dec 14, 2023 Full Review Ben Dowell Times (UK) Based on a series of mystery novels by Tony Hillerman, the drama is essentially a proud and unashamed reclamation of film (and TV) history. Oct 20, 2023 Full Review Brian Tallerico The Playlist It’s only two seasons in, but these characters and the world they inhabit feel fully realized and rich with stories to tell. Rated: A- Aug 8, 2023 Full Review Kyle Mullin Under the Radar The cast, the writing, the setting and vintage props will draw viewers into Dark Winds’ world, one where Indigenous gunslingers are finally written with the deftness they deserve. Rated: 8/10 Nov 27, 2023 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate Engrossing, pulpy, authentically indigenous Western that's been adapted by and primarily directed by Native Americans, who have amplified the women's roles and depicted the supernatural Navajo culture as a spiritual experience. Rated: 8/10 Sep 13, 2023 Full Review Jen Maravegias Pajiba If a third season doesn’t materialize, at least the storylines from the first two seasons conclude satisfactorily. But with compelling characters and a wealth of source material, there’s much more to explore. Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

CT 8 I think season one was slightly better, but overall it’s still a quality show featuring a good story, some find acting and a terrific setting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review Nancy M Seasons 1 and 2: Set in the land of enchantment (New Mexico) mainly in Navajo Nation. A welcome change from gritty urban crime shows. Excellent performances, good unpredictable plots and writing. Good pace and plenty of suspense. Season 2 has more action. The cast includes mainly Navaho and other Native American actors, the show is written and directed by Navaho and other NAs. A lot of the Dine language is spoken. Wonderful cinematography. The show introduces viewers to Navajo cultural traditions, customs. NA characters are shown in a multi layered, positive light. While the show deals with crime and catching the bad guys, there are other layers and side stories. The show conveys a strong commitment to justice and fairness and respect for others. Great soundtrack too. Looking forward to season 3! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/11/24 Full Review Gareth v While not as strong as season 1, it still remains a well-made police drama that tackles a number of issues in a thoughtful manner. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Cameron 1st season was better although I still enjoyed this one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Joe S Loved it. Can't wait for season 3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/23 Full Review John A The first season was much better. There were too many unrealistic events in this 2nd season.
