Inspired, says creator Charlie Brooker, by the classic horror film "Dawn of the Dead," this five-episode series chronicles a nightmare scenario in which Britain is taken over by zombies. No one is spared the wrath of the undead ... except the contestants and production staff filming a season of "Big Brother" in the U.K. As they're unaware of what's happening outside, the house becomes a safe haven. Then the doors open on eviction night and all hell breaks loose.

Critics Consensus

A bloody take on Big Brother, Dead Set blends sharp satire and gleeful gore with unexpectedly poignant -- and genuinely scary -- results.

[T]he first hour felt like a nimble zombie-combo, with George A. Romero's satirical spirit playing right alongside the more modern, gore-heavy 28 Days Later style. Go to Full Review

Having watched the pilot last night, I'm pretty sure it's going to be my new favorite panic attack for awhile. Go to Full Review

It's also a perfect example of the benefits of aiming low. A lot of the mechanics of the plot are familiar from its many predecessors, but the new context and the care lavished on it holds the attention. Go to Full Review

M7AMD A @M7AMD Apr 23 not bad at all i enjoyed it espaically the last 2 episode, also have funny scenes that made me crack up, the idea of the show is original and they do not stretch the show for no reason which made me appreciate it, short and sweet that how I like it See more 06/29/2021 Good acting and production except for the handheld action shots, which are nigh unwatchable. This show has as smidgeon of character development, but it doesn't go anywhere. *Spoiler* Everybody dies. One good point though: Riz Ahmed is in it See more 01/28/2021 Maybe Charlie's best work in my opinion. Nothing more to say than just such a f*cking good watch, thought provoking, funny, a sad look at pop culture at that current point in time. Jaime Winstone is really enjoyable throughout, would love to see Charlie take on another zombie or even slasher series with Jaime, she seemed to thrive in this role. Could definitely see her taking on a 'final girl' role and solidifying herself as one of the great scream queens. Props to Dead Set. See more melanie k @RT05232019 06/28/2020 "Dead Set" is a good but not great zombie apocalypse miniseries. Compared to the Brazilian adaptation "Reality Z", though, it's great. Short and sweet with a rather bleak ending, I definitely found this show to be interesting and worth the watch. See more 05/13/2020 Charlie Brooker's seminal horror serial is an outstanding experience for horror fans and those who are familiar with the UK's version of Big Brother. Each episode will have you on the edge of your seat as you anticipate the resolution — one that should be a pleasant surprise once you see the final episode. Complete with excellent performances, a harrowing atmosphere, intense cinematography, Dan Jones' eerie, blood-curdling score, and cleverly-written satirical undercurrents, this is one hell of a terrifying, witty and all-around entertaining series you won't want to forget! Whether or not Brooker decides to kickstart negotiations for a second series, we'll have to see. You never know what he'll pursue next. See more 03/10/2019 How has this not won anything...truly shows how british shows can be if done right. The concept is basic but how it is elevated...just for me outdoes any of the zombie shows of today. Like Black Mirror, this show is dark and isnâ??t afraid of taking the really intense route from the beginning to end. See more Read all reviews
