The vibes are creepy and gritty, the characters are gruff and direct, the puzzle is properly intriguing, and the English are frequently mocked. Go to Full Review

Tom W @TexOracle Sep 7, 2026 Very good on all levels. 5 star acting, characters, story, direction. For Season 2 it will be hard to strike so solidly on story again, with this show wasn’t constantly (correctly) guessing plot development or challenging reality blunders, was top notch. Season 2 probably in the can already, but would hope they include more local flavor, culture, scenery. Surprised at how good this show was, standing above the mass of streaming available today. Lead actor did a spectacular job, and Macdonald provided a nice touch by the end. Enough bright notes and charm to not feel overly heavy like so many Scandinavian crime shows that become mired in dreary slogs. The Syrian character … 5 stars, didn’t feel like a woke immigrant indoctrination, especially since he was a "legal immigrant", really good character and actor. Could go on and on about quality elements, great show. See more Pearlie B @RT569043311622 Sep 5, 2026 I'd only seen the Danish film adaptations of the first two books before now, but they are so good I wasn't sure if the English speaking version could compete. Thankfully, enough years have passed and the main characters of this tv version are well cast. See more Snehanjan M @RT95203201 Aug 26, 2026 What a show! The writing and the dialogues are so good. It keeps you engaged throughout. It’s well written, well directed and beautifully acted. See more Helen R @RT5689042217754 Aug 15, 2026 I really loved it. The acting was fantastic, the characters were compelling, and the mystery kept me interested all the way through. It’s a slow burn, but once it gets going, it’s really gripping." See more Liza J @LizaJu Aug 9, 2026 I went in expecting a fairly standard crime show, but the characters completely won me over. It's dark without being relentlessly depressing, and the slower pace actually worked really well for the story. See more Zainab M @RT84753918 Aug 8, 2026 The story unravels beautifully, revealing its layers at just the right pace. Well acted, with strong performances that kept me engaged throughout. Matthew Goode is always a treat to watch—his presence adds so much to the series. Highly recommend. See more Read all reviews
