The show starts fairly strong with some good intrigue, but the payoff is dissatisfying to say the least. The themes of coercion and ptsd never pay off in any satisfying way, and the allusions to horror classic Carrie towards the end of the series whet the appetite without ever delivering. The awful mother psychiatrist who actually ignores her kids, adopts a girl who is desperate for attention but gets very little (Oh except for the ridiculous birthday party with absolutely no kids and only adults have fun). A psychiatrist who gives the wrong meds to a series patient? And noone says anything much? She taks home a weird abused kid chased by a Killer cult and nothing? She is allowed to do it? No, terrible. POTENTIAL SPOILER: The one big issue I had with the story, which prevented me from really getting into this potentially interesting show, was the fact the mother thought it would be a great idea to bring a troubled, young stranger into their house... a stranger who was obviously being chased by potentially dangerous people.
