Dogs are known as man's best friend, so it goes without saying that the animals form tight bonds with their caregivers. This docuseries celebrates those bonds between people and their beloved four-legged buddies. "Dogs" profiles people and their pooches, telling stories from around the world -- including Syria, Japan and Costa Rica -- that prove the unconditional love one feels for their dog is a universal truth. The show takes viewers on an inspirational journey that explores the remarkable, perhaps even magical, qualities that have given the animals a special place in most people's hearts. The episodes are helmed by critically acclaimed directors, including Oscar- and Emmy-winning filmmakers.

Avoids silliness and schmaltz by telling the stories of dog owners, giving us a sense of their vulnerabilities and their dreams, before showing us how their dogs have taken up such a crucial position in their lives. The show is more touching as a result. Go to Full Review

Yes, it is moving, and, yes, the featured canines are often adorable, loyal and always lovable, but the story of each dog is used to unlock something more intricate and intense. Go to Full Review

Yes, lolling tongues, floppy ears, and wagging tails abound, but in the end, it's the people's stories that resonate the most in "Dogs." Dogs are easy to love, and through their example, we can relearn to love our fellow man. Go to Full Review

ma'ark t 03/14/2019 Does a great job of telling a story about the Dogs and their humans. See more 02/14/2019 This Netflix original will give more reason to invest in man's best friend if you haven't already or make a dog-lover out of many. Dogs' fascination not only lies in its unique canines it displays but how it plays a factor in these interesting stories of humans. Establishing a grounded and inspiring connection and relationship between man and dog further finalizes the brilliance of this series as well as how undeserving we are of these creatures. 4.5/5 See more dave d 01/07/2019 THERE'S A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR ALL DOG LOVERS HERE. VERY ENJOYABLE SERIES! See more 01/06/2019 Emotional, emotional and more emotional. I lost my beloved dog this summer, and the series brings me in the joy of loving and being loved by a dog, and the hard pain of not being able to see him anymore. As I said, very emotional See more 11/24/2018 Probably everyone will have a favorite story. Mine was Ice on the boat in Italy. Or maybe Zeus escaping from Syria. Or possibly Max and his 1,200 closest Costa Rican friends. THEY ARE ALL SUCH GOOD GIRLS AND BOYS! See more Read all reviews
