Hoping to see a grounded doctor series starting a young actor/actress. But what seems to be grounded is really over the top comedic and unrealistic show where the basic medical care that's learned qt someone her age is questioned by police and other people. The Hawaii centrepiece of the series, over shadows what the show was expected of. Whenever it seems like doogie is finally kick into gear and be a serious show, there's somehow a comedic joke by her mother or by her friend or rest of her family, which the jokes falls flat on its butt

    Great Show. Disney+ overdone itself.

A lot of people are comparing this to And Mack, but what made Andi Mack so memorable was its tonal difference from other shows like Jessie, Good Luck Charlie, or That's So Raven. It did not have laugh tracks, it did not have zany characters making a joke every second, and it was a very realistic dramedy that got its comedy from the actors giving very charismatic and amusing performances. This show does lean more into comedy than drama, which is fine, but it subs out And Mack's form of comedy with zany characters, like the dim witted, but jubilant best friend, the dad that hates the boyfriend, the brother that is just too cool, etc. And that type of comedy does not blend well with the drama, especially if it has some pretty heavy subject matter. Speaking of the drama, mostly just uncomfortable scenes that drag out for to long, other than a few good exceptions. Also, the show has nothing to do with Doogie Howser. It is just a nickname they call the main character that.

Have only seen the first episode. It was a poorly constructed sitcom, horribly over acted and so, so lame. Likeable actors but they're given nothing to work with. I won't be continuing to watch this one.

Repeated all of the major beats of the Doogie Howser M.D. pilot. So not "Inspired" by the original, its a "remake", at least for episode one.
