Doom Patrol is a team of traumatized and downtrodden superheroes, each of whom has suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities but also left them scarred and disfigured. The members of the team have found their purpose through The Chief and have come together to investigate some of the world's weirdest phenomena. After The Chief mysteriously disappears, though, the reluctant heroes find themselves called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission that they cannot refuse. Doom Patrol -- part support group, part superhero team -- is a band of superpowered freaks fighting for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

As entertaining as the first, but with more emotional depth, Doom Patrol's second season explores darker corners without sacrificing any of its wonderful weirdness.

Doom Patrol leans into the drama while still acknowledging that it exists in a quite bizarre and off-kilter comic book world. Go to Full Review

Doom Patrol's second season sacrifices too much joy on the altar of its heroes' troubled psyches, without enough chances to savor their unusual charms-or marvel at the oddities continually swirling around them. Go to Full Review

If you're a fan of absurd, mind-bending yet heartfelt comedy with a compelling cast of characters ... then Doom Patrol may just be your new favorite show. Go to Full Review

This works because of an all-star cast that includes Matt Bomer, Timothy Dalton and Brendan Fraser. But it is the work by April Bowlby that gives the series the emotional center it needs to strike so many relatable notes. Go to Full Review

It's got some great ideas, and it goes to some really interesting places. It sometimes stumbles around a little bit getting there. Go to Full Review

Weird, unconventional, wildly imaginative, cheeky, very funny and highly skilled at self-reverential meta-comedy. (Blu-ray Review). Go to Full Review

hypmic May 12 It wasn't as good as the first one, nothing is going to beat the cockroach fight but I have to admit that at the end of the day it's a good season, honestly the stories develop more which is good, But the way they handle the villains and everyone who isn't in the mansion is definitely not helpful. It is entertaining, but it does not reach the level of entertainment, quality, and the level of development and introduction of the first season, Basically, it's entertaining and I would recommend it, but only if you watch the first season first. See more AARNAV V Mar 6 Another great season See more Craig B @Boundsy 07/31/2024 Doom Patrol has been a very good series. Great and very likeable cast including Brendan Fraser and Timothy Dalton with fairly solid stories delivered with good smatterings of humour. Season 4 wasn't the best of the 4 seasons, but certainly finished off the various story arcs satfactorily. Well worth watching for super hero fans who enjoy a quirky ensemble cast with good dollops of action and silliness. See more Matt M 06/16/2024 Honestly, this was one of the most engaging seasons of television I’ve ever seen. All of the characters had compelling storylines that made sense and the storyline broadened the previously established themes, especially Jane’s character arc. Bravo! See more Lancelot O @Upbeat_New_guy 09/22/2023 Show started out pretty good, really weird and different. Then it's just episodic messages. Not in a smart or creative way that makes you think though. It's just on-the-nose, predictable (the worst that could happen to this show), and distracting. Would have liked to give this show the smart and funny accolade, but it's not. It's just kinda funny, slightly less weird, and gets off track too often to stay interesting. Unfortunately forgettable, and it only got worse after this season sadly.
