What kept me watching was the subject matter - part mystery, study of the brain as well as wondering how far Sewon will go to be able to fully succeed in his experiments (yet how can he when at death it only takes a few minutes for parts of the brain to start dying)? As a character Sewon is flat due to his lack of emotion (but we see sparks of energy and life here and there when he is with people he cares about or when he is working on his experiments).
