Reason #∞ why 3D animation shouldn't be taken seriously

This anime was awful. For starters it had way too much sex (there wasn't any graphic sex in the game, just cutscenes that faded to black) and the way they adapted the lore was not correct. In the lore the Arisen does NOT eat the dragons heart to become the dragon (why they went that direction still baffles me) and it was just unnecessary. The whole anime gives the game a bad rep, for Netflix to take something good and make something bad from it is just pathetic. The lore was so far off, the storyline itself was not well thought out and they didnt capture key elements from the game very well If you enjoyed the game and have played it for a long time like I have then you sily agree that it was awful in comparison.

I'd give you that 5 star rating but y'all should have used the opening for the game for the anime. Something about that opening had you literally pumped up for the series. And without it, I just feel bored.

I actually enjoyed the animation. It reminded me of the other Netflix show "The Dragon Prince." I thought the monsters/envinroments were beautifully designed and also the fight sequences had amazing magic casting on the part of Hannah. I wish Ethan had more powers than just a red eyed glow. It would be cool to have him have some super powers too as it seemed like Hannah had all the cool spells. The Hydra, Griffon, Lich, Dragon etc, all made for really great and beautiful action scenes. I really enjoyed watching them take down those monsters. I thought the voice acting was good. My only gripe is the storyline. It's kind of sad in the end. It definitely emphasized the dark side of humanity, kind of like Game of Thrones. A decent amount of blood, sex, and violence. The videogames had different ending depending on your choices. It would have been cool if they create 1 season for each kind of ending. The characters were a little lackluster, besides the main 2 characters. It would be nice to see some more main characters who don't die in the show to create more of a team spirit. Overall I think they did a good job but could use some improvements in the story department. I felt most of the coolness came from the fighting scenes but this left the rest of the show a little bare. I won't give up on them yet I think they have potential to fix this in season 2 but they really have to workout more character development and story.

Between the awkward, stiff animation of the 3D models (why?!), the paper thin story line and the disappointing ending, this wasn't a good watch. Watched the entire series, hoping it would get interesting, but no. I don't regret watching it, but definitely wouldn't recommend that anyone else watch it either!

Horrible, it really is a shame they took a game with such a rich story and so much potential and somehow made it unwatchable. Cheap animation, cheesy dialogue/script, this was obviously a rushed project in an attempt to make Netflix some money by piggy-backing off the reputation of actual high-quality entertainment

It completely missed the core aspect of what made the original videogame so great for me. The show had the Dragon but it forgot the Dogma.

Never played the games so my take is on the show alone. Low tier minimal effort animation. Voice acting leaves a lot to be desired and is often outright awkward to listen to. Episodes are often so dull I imagine people scrubbing through them like a worn out youtube video intro, trying to find the quality content later in the show. Disappointingly it never came. Go watch castlevania instead.

There are parts of this show that are okay but there are others that are terrible. The animation, voice acting and dialogue are especially bad. That said, some of the action and designs are cool. But not a good show.
