Dragons: The Nine Realms is an exciting new adventure in the How to Train Your Dragon universe that moves the franchise consciously to the modern-day, addressing realistically how we would interact with these marvelous creatures. Go to Full Review

It's a good match for smaller kids, and a good way to get them out of your hair for a few short hours. Sometimes during a holiday break, that's all you can ask for. Go to Full Review

SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch 02/22/2025 "Dragons: The Nine Realms" is an animated series from DreamWorks that serves as a spinoff of the beloved "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise. However, it diverges significantly, lacking the original characters and instead introducing a new setting filled with dragons. Unfortunately, it seems like an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the films, but it ultimately fell short. The plotlines felt disjointed, and the character development was minimal, leading to a lackluster experience over its eight seasons. Rather than feeling like an authentic DreamWorks production, it came across as a rushed project aimed solely at generating profit from the established series, which was a disappointing misstep. It's evident that there was an overwhelming push for production without a focus on quality. The storytelling felt hurried and crammed, making it a lackluster series overall. While I did manage to watch it through to the end, I wouldn't consider revisiting it. The content seems better suited for very young children, and I found it to be quite tedious. See more Shadow of t @RT97387081 10/09/2024 To be honest I regret watching this, as someone who grew up with the trilogy this makes the avatar the last air bender live action look good See more Lyndsey B @RT69440816 12/24/2023 This show actively supports emotional abusive relationships. Jun, a main character in the show and the protagonist's love interest, on multiple different occasions gaslights, victim blames, and manipulates the other main characters. When she does these terrible things, often it is the others apologizing to her because her actions had consequences. The show never reprimands her or shows that what she is doing is wrong. Please, don't let your kids watch this show because it may teach them that abusive relationships are okay, potentially causing them to be trapped in a abusive relationship or even becoming a abuser. This isn't just another stupid kids show, it has the potential to hurt real people with it's message. See more flauschiges Wikingerschiff @RT28347470 03/30/2023 In comparison to the normal movies its completley garbage. Almost the entire plot is copied from the orignial movie. A boy meets a dragon, they beome friends, his frieends get dragons to, a big bad dragoon appears who uses the same sounds as the red dead is trying to kill them but the Children with their dragons save the day. Not only the plot is copied but most of the characterrs to Tom is hiccup, June is Astrid, di Angelo is a mix from Fishlegs and Snotlut, Thunder is toothless, the gembreakers are Gronckles, Wu and Wei are a mix out of the hiddeous zippleback and the monstrous nigthmare. The only really unique Character or dragon designs are from Alex and Feathers, They are the sole reason why I didn't gave this show half a star. Instead of watching the show watch the original movie instead. See more Samara G @RT83011935 11/17/2022 I'd rather rewatch all how to train your dragon movies and the side series from the movies and Hiccup is a better protagonist and dragon rider See more 05/09/2022 Everything about this show sucks. The pacing is horrible, the characters look awful, the animation is ugly and stiff, in just the first episode I found at least TWO big animation errors. The characters are annoying as hell, and forgettable. Don't waste any precious seconds of your life on this show. I did, and I have never regretted anything more. You'd benefit more from watching paint dry. See more Read all reviews
