Critics Consensus

Double the Michelle Monaghan should be a winning proposition, but Echoes is a resounding misfire whose promise grows fainter with each silly twist.

Netflix gets a lot of mileage out of these kind of mysteries, but for all its contortionist-worthy twists and turns, Echoes begins looking like an enticing plunge and doesn't quite pull itself out of the shallow end of that gene pool. Go to Full Review

The potential of Echoes starts to drain before the premiere is even over as it gets goofier and goofier in a way that’s not entertaining but frustrating. Go to Full Review

There’s a lot happening in Echoes, and part of the reason is that the show overcomplicates itself with a premise that is meant to be mysterious. Go to Full Review

A fast consumption product, which does not hide its objectives. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Michelle Monaghan does double duty in this series and she carries the weight of her two roles adequately. Still the series seems stretched beyond comprehension and goes over the same ground repeatedly. Go to Full Review

Sasha S @Sashs Jan 17 What a stupid story line. It starts of really captivating then turns into a circus act. Don’t waste your time watching. There’s really nothing much more to expect. See more Ken Jan 4 I found this on Netflix and now I know what actors are doing when they aren't making movies. I absolutely find it absurd that a husband wouldnt' know the difference between his wife and her twin sister. I watched all seven episodes just to see how ridiculous it was going to get and it didn't disappoint. This type of series is what you get when someone has to fill hours of scheduling. See more Luz H Dec 1 I especially wanted to leave a review about this series because I saw how many negative comments it has, so I wanted to support Echoes. I believe it is an entertaining and fluent series to watch. If you have time, you could devour it in just one day, as I did. The story is interesting and surprising. I guess that the people who didn’t like it probably didn’t get to the other part of the story (from the other sister, Gina) around episode 4 or 5, if I recall correctly, and they didn’t understand what was going on — just like it happened to me — and felt frustrated, so they quit. The best tip I could give you is: let it be. Follow the story and enjoy it. Everything will be explained! The only negative part is that there was a moment in the series where the father and Claud were talking to Leni, but she was dressed as Gina (which could be a production or script mistake). And afterwards, the father talked to Gina and should have realized that they were switching lives. In addition, the waterfall part was horribly produced. Sometimes, it is better to use practical effects than green screen. To sum up, I stayed up late until 4 am to finish it, and it was totally worth it. See more Rodrigo B 05/13/2024 Terribly disappointing. The fact that no one notices the switching is just absurd. They also try to make show "mysterious" and with a "twist", but all they do is have the main characters acting absurdly. 0/10 would never recommend See more Michael J 02/09/2024 I just don't dig it that the characters don't realize that she might be just her twin sister. for me not comprehensible. See more dana f 11/14/2023 While it can be a little convoluted at times, I enjoyed the layers to the story. It was a fun ride. See more Read all reviews
