Louise Jo-Anne G @RT96596373 09/09/2024 I came across this by accident on Prime. I don't regret it for one bit. There may be some historical inaccuracies, but they do this to most historical dramas when they adapt things for the screen do they not?! I found it quite gripping and I ended up glued to it. Excellent battle scene in this first season also, not to missed. Now I look forward to season 2 and hopefully a season 3 if they make one. Only thing I had to do, it's not made in English, so I just set it to English language (US) version, that's the best one I found and also put on subtitles, so I didn't miss anything. See more 01/16/2021 This review comes with the caveat that this series should be watched in Spanish with English subtitles. The dub takes away a lot from the performances of the actors and actresses and the whole story flows more naturally in its native tongue. El Cid can be confusing at times and definitely requires more patience than one might have for five episode series but the costume design, performances, and locations are wonderful. I would say anyone interested in a medieval setting would find a lot to like in this, though I am not completely sure as to the credibility of the series' historical accuracy, and the average audience member should be able to enjoy the tension and acting that comes along with it.
