Su apodo variaba según los hispanomusulmanes, que le llamaban El Cid,5​ y los cristianos, que le llamaban El Campeador. Este noble es uno de los personajes más conocidos de la Edad Media española, siendo el caballero invicto que, a través de sus gestas, fue pilar fundamental en la conquista de la Península de los reinos cristianos. Era vasallo de los monarcas Sancho II y Alfonso VI de León, pero también sirvió a la Taifa de Zaragoza y luchó contra los almorávides en la península, conquistando la Taifa de Valencia. El famoso noble se verá envuelto en diferentes batallas entre los reinos cristianos y musulmanes en la Península Ibérica, así como guerras por el poder entre los reinos cristianos. See more Jan 16, 2021 This review comes with the caveat that this series should be watched in Spanish with English subtitles. The dub takes away a lot from the performances of the actors and actresses and the whole story flows more naturally in its native tongue. El Cid can be confusing at times and definitely requires more patience than one might have for five episode series but the costume design, performances, and locations are wonderful. I would say anyone interested in a medieval setting would find a lot to like in this, though I am not completely sure as to the credibility of the series' historical accuracy, and the average audience member should be able to enjoy the tension and acting that comes along with it.
