I only watched this show because everyone else in my house wanted to see it through. I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near this show if it were up to me. The writing is boring and repetative, none of the characters are likeable whatsoever, and Emily has no character traits other than being unbearably whiny over which guy to choose. Through the whole season, I laughed at one joke, and only due to second hand embarrasment for Emily that I no longer feel because none of these characters deserve my sympathy apart from Luc. A show that should be as funny, entertaining escapism has instead been an inescapable, disastrous mess for me. I don’t think I will make it through season 6. See more Noah H @Noah85 Jan 5 I used to not really like this show but I am pleasantly surprised that so far, season 5 of Emily in Paris is actually exceeding my expectations. I will say, this is the first season of Emily in Paris to actually give us a solid reason why Emily acted the way she did. It took 5 seasons but we FINALLY got there. My favorite scene in this season is when Emily explains to Marcello that her family insisted for her to always succeed. That is why she was so, "American" from seasons 1 to 4. IT FINALLY MAKES SENSE NOW!! Two other elements of this show's season that really resonated with me were the storylines of Mindy and Sylvie. Mindy is still funny as ever and Sylvie's story still has a lot of substance. They are REALLY stealing the show for me. This season isn't perfect. It still has that awkward sex humor from seasons 1 to 4 but overall, I would say that this is a very enjoyable season of television. So... yeah! Go watch it! This is spectacularly awful with risible plots, lazy writing and hammy overacting which even the fabulous locations can’t salvage.
