Tv Season Info

In the fifth and final season of the Showtime comedy "Episodes," a scandal puts Matt LeBlanc's career in an unexpected spin, catapulting him to new heights of popularity rather than sinking him into ignominy. Carol, on the other hand, is on a downward spiral of her own as she deals with the consequences of losing her job at the network. Sean and Beverly face their own hell in the form of Sean's former writing partner Tim. Surprising career turns, a pregnancy, a death, and a lawsuit transform the lives of these characters. Starring alongside Matt LeBlanc are Stephen Mangan as Sean, Tamsin Greig as Beverly, and Kathleen Rose Perkins as Carol. The show guest stars Andrea Savage as Helen Basch and Bruce Mackinnon as Tim Whittick.

Critic Reviews for Episodes (US) Season 5

All Critics (7) | Top Critics (2)

This was darker than it was funny - the perfect encapsulation of Episode's cruel yet undeniably effective approach to comedy.

Mar 30, 2018 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

This LeBlanc is as emotionally bottomed out as ever, and "Episodes" remains as sneakily ruthless as anything on television.

Maybe it has not been as popular as Friends, but Episodes, also with Matt LeBlanc, is a very vindictive comedy. [Full Review in Spanish]

Jul 8, 2018 | Full Review…

Episodes abided by the golden rules of TV comedy: be different, be funny, and quit while you're ahead. Missing you already.

May 17, 2018 | Full Review…

There are only so many stupid network-boss names, like Elliot Salad or Merc Lapidus, that we can make up. But it's still brilliant; I still watched it all in one sitting.

Apr 2, 2018 | Full Review…

Episodes is a delicious send-up of Hollywood and all the banal, vain excesses of the TV game.

Aug 14, 2017 | Rating: 3.5/4 | Full Review…

Episodes is a stinging indictment of the television industry, from hack writers to phony agents to callous executives.

Top British writing, love this show! Wasn't a fan of Friends but this show made me fall for Matt Le Blanc.

I am the 4.5/5 start-kind-of-person but this is a 5! Everyone who enjoyed the other seasons, apart from plain unenjoyable season three, will have a blast watching season 5. It's beyond funny. It's all you ever wanted. Its biggest downside is, that it isn't available on Netflix. The last season is filled with, unexpected events, identity crises, simple giggles, and wonderfully crafted jokes. It feels much fresher and newer than what seasons two three and four offered. After a bumpy ride introducing great, weird, and unnecessary characters, Episodes ties up everything neatly in its show final. Although I really didn't want it to be over, will I have to call it a brilliant ending to a brilliant show.

hold your line for.. Episodes Not much shows nowadays, walks on smart comedy and more importantly keeps it to the point and these are the reasons why it stands alone and will be a bit eerie to encounter by the normal sitcom viewer. David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik's vision seems wide and is approached too with appropriate care and understanding of the whole tone and the 'backstage' world they have projected in here. Matt Le Blanc in the centre of it is doing some of his career's best work in here and is supported too with a great cast like Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan. Episodes is not your usual sitcom that takes its time to prove a point; its hits fast, hard and even brutal sometime along with a proper understanding of character development that arcs its way up perfectly to the mark.

Very good. This is the ONLY good thing that any of the "Friends" have done since "Friends." The only thing
