These characters have genuine chemistry, and thanks to the story structure, viewers will feel as though they’re growing with them. That structure also means it’s easy to predict where the story is going, but the real fun is in getting there. Go to Full Review

Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right—Carley Fortune’s bestseller is now a YA series for romantics of all ages, especially those who never got over the loss of "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Go to Full Review

This book-turned-TV adaptation has some charm but an overly familiar plotline; viewers' judgment may hinge on how many romance narratives they've consumed, the better to spot the tropes. Go to Full Review

Steven C @RT36233350 5d I have not read the book so I am not familiar with the story, it is very enjoyable, but it would be nice for Percy to be a little stronger and self assured. See more Nancy B @Nanceee Jul 15 Not bad . Not sure i would watch again . This reminds me of the summer I turned pretty which was also average . See more sebastian andres O @Yoamoalcine Jul 10 It delivers what you'd expect from this type of story: romance, significant conflicts, and a protagonist on a journey of self-discovery and healing. In that sense, the series has a solid foundation to explore. The execution is good, though it shines brighter at times than others, but ultimately it connects with the viewer and achieves its goal of hooking you enough to binge-watch it in a single day. By the end, this viewer is already signed up for the second season to continue discovering what this reflective lake, into which everyone wants to immerse themselves, has in store for us. See more Brandon L @tcsm74 Jul 8 as someone who hasn’t read the books i’m lowkey obsessed with this show lol. it’s so dramatic and the characters take turns getting on your nerves. guilty pleasure television in its purest form and a really easy binge. See more D S @bookemd Jul 6 I enjoyed it. I am reading the book now I liked it that much. People have been too hard on it. Could some writing be better, sure….. What’s bad is TSITP which this is compared too. I’m in the middle of season 2 and not sure why I keep watching. Too much commitment at this point. No good characters. I at least like the characters in Every Year After. See more Esteban C @RT03454761 Jul 2 i mean it was prime’s summer series of the year, and compared to the past ones it’s by far the worse. there was something about the acting, mixed with the cringy dialogue, that made it hard to watch at times. the casting was great (except for kid sam and the zero physical relation to adult sam), the story was compelling (although overwhelming and disappointing at times) and it’s a good series to watch, but definitely not one to obsess over or want more from. the summer lake town scenario gives a different and necessary perspective from the beach one that’s overused by now, but in the end that’s not enough to make this series extraordinary. weak finale, waiting to see what they do for season two. delilah and chantal, the best and most interesting characters by far See more Read all reviews
