A deep dive into America's complicated past and present through the voices and experiences of people of color. The three-part docuseries marries humor with history as it unapologetically confronts the many facets of racism, exploitation and discrimination that have contributed to the formation of the United States. In a nation that mostly sticks to one side of America's history,  the docuseries explores the history of race in America from the perspective of people of color, featuring insights from noted historians, cultural commentators, actors, activists and artists.

There’s value in the three main episodes of Everything’s Gonna Be All White, but there are comparable docs I’d suggest first. The bonus episode? I strongly urge Showtime to order 13 episodes in this format, which isn’t like anything else on TV. Go to Full Review

Roberta M @RT30347943 02/27/2023 If you're not a person of color by any percentage, this show will get under your skin in a way that SHOULD make you uncomfortable. So proud of Showtime to air. Awed by the range of insights shared so wisely, patiently, distinctly. I am white and ashamed of what I didn't see, what I wasn't taught and can't correct on any scale alone - but I'm tryin' and hopeful. Sacha Jenkins - gratitude. See more 06/21/2022 This show aims to misrepresent America as a society of colored people who have been oppressed by Europeans and will continue to be oppressed by the descendants of those Europeans. This show also misrepresents world history by selectively showcasing the most evil acts of European history while ignoring the great acts of other white people who worked and fought to end racism and slavery around the world. This show also ignores the mass slavery of African people committed by those living in the middle east for centuries and claims that African slavery was uniquely a wrongful act committed by Europeans. Having watched the show it is clear to see that the show aims at dividing Americans along racial lines and capitalizing on white guilt for misdeeds committed in America's past. See more 06/19/2022 Fresh voices you may not have heard before speak on the institutional racism of the US. It's notable that the show incorporates a lot of Native American history and modern Native voices—not always part of contemporary conversations about racism. See more 05/25/2022 Not gonna hold you, I watched the trailer and the first episode. Too cringe to watch anymore. Amanda can call me a 🦝 all she want for not liking it but I would need blinders on to see this isn't racist asf. And yeah, black people CAN be racist. See more 04/14/2022 This is the reason racism exists! Racism would be gone in this country if these crazies didn't propagate this ugly leftist propaganda to keep resentment alive. If you care about racial equality and positive relationships, then stand against this garbage. See more 03/08/2022 Right-wing political commentator Ben Shapiro (who has MILLIONS of followers), did a "review" of the TRAILER for this show. Not surprising, HE TRASHED IT. He gave a review of this series based solely on the trailer (he was making comments about ti that were categorically incorrect, e.g. he said it was hosted by Amanda Seales. It's not! If he actually watched it, he'd know that). I guarantee you, all the 1-star reviews on this show are his fans giving vapid, over-generalized comments that clearly indicate they did NOT watch it. I actually watched it, and the series does a great job laying out very SPECIFIC issues as it relates to race in this country. Just to name a few, it addresses racial stereotypes in Hollywood; the broken promises and treaties between the US and indigenous people; the effects of chattel slavery and Jim Crow that reverberate to today; colorism in Hollywood; the gentrification of POC communities and the effects it has on those communities. Etc. The series interviews a wide range of people from education, entertainment, politics, and activism. It interviews Asians, Black people, Latinx, and Indigenous people. It provides specific facts and figures on all the points it brings up. Not ONE of these 1-star reviews addresses any SPECIFIC aspects of the series. Despite the fact that anyone can do a simple Google search to verify the info given in the series. No one who is intellectually HONEST can watch this series and give it a 1-star based on the B.S. these Ben Shapiro fans are writing. If you lean far to the right and are a fan of people like Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingram, or Candace Owens, you will absolutely not like what this series has to say. But, regardless of your political leanings, if you are intelligent, open-minded, and have a heart of empathy and compassion for what POC deal with in this country, you will find the series eye-opening. You might not necessarily agree with everything, and I'm not saying you'd give it a 4 or 5. But the creative and artistic execution alone are worthy of a rating higher than a one! GMAFB! Do not base whether or not you watch this series on the raving and dishonest reviews of a deluge of Ben Shapiro fans. See more Read all reviews
