Andy Millman is a British fellow who quits his day job to pursue fame and fortune in the film industry. Unfortunately, because of the "good luck" of real actors, Andy can't seem to land the big parts he'd like -- so he resigns himself to working as an extra. Through his travels, however, Andy gets to meet some of the biggest names in the business.

This isn't necessarily highbrow stuff, but that is no matter: in comedy, the laugh itself is the thing. By that measure, Extras has been a quite marvelous success. Go to Full Review

Like The Office, Extras is great comedy because it's not just about laughs but presents an at-times gruelling expose of human frailty and the hopes and fears that haunt usall. Go to Full Review

Merchant and Gervais deserve plaudits for their daring. The Radcliffe episode is astonishing for depicting politically incorrect and embarrassing moments Go to Full Review

Petros T @PetrosTserpelis 01/26/2024 (both seasons) The masters of cringe comedy strike back. Each episode has at least one guest star attracting the attention, and some of these appearances (e.g. Kate Winslet) are brilliant, yet the high point of "Extras" ends up being the recurring characters. The show slowly but surely invests in them, culminating in the excellent special. There may be a couple of weaker (still good) episodes throughout, but the show can be great at combining humour, stupidity, drama, affection and biting social commentary. See more Read all reviews
